Haven't been in almost 57 years, was one of my first memories with my parents. The area has grown and modernized to some degree, but still maintains its wonderful charm. Beach has super cute beach front dining and the mission takes you back in time.

The town itself has an interesting history and lots of restaurants and shops to explore. The old mission is a must see. Close to the freeway if you want to go to other places.

"Our receptionist was very dry and unwelcoming, not friendly at all. Did not smile once. We waiting in line to check in for about 8 minutes as there was only one clerk. A 2nd line started forming as it was confusing to see where the line started.Then a 2nd clerk came in (the one I am referring to). She didn’t ask who was next and just took the other guest even though we were already waiting. It was fine it happens, but again, when she finally helped us she was very dry, not mean or rude, just not welcoming. My son even tried to break the ice because he asked if the decorations on the wall were lilies and she turned around and said “um, yeah”. No friendly conversation, no smile, just very dry. Maybe she was having a bad day, we all do. But it left a negative taste in our mouth. Luckily our stay was overall positive and fun. Pool was great. "
