"This self-acclaimed hotel closed a year ago in a totally run-down state. Some four months ago it was bought by a new (US citizen) owner who is trying to rebuild the place. Currently there is one room that looks quite okay, however there is no reception, no personnel apart from a local housekeeper.
The problem starts with the entrance. When we arrived on December 14 around noon, the gate was closed, while there is no name sign nor anything else that indicates the existence of a hotel. It looks...

"Staying at Mombacho Lodge was an incredible experience. I got the opportunity to stay in the park. There were howler monkeys, a sloth, butrerfliesand beautiful plants and trees all around me. Big groups of howler monkeys came through the property twice each day."

"The trails through the jungle around the lodge are incredible, and very well maintained. The owner and staff were very attentive, and I felt completely taken care of, from the moment my plane landed, until my return flight took off. The lodge owner matched me with a guide, Harold “The Tiger,” who took me on several grand adventures, hiking, kayaking, birding, touring white towns. This was the best stay I’ve ever had, anywhere! I plan on returning, soon. I can not recommend this place enough!!"

"The people are excellent but having to ask them to open the parking garage is an issue.

"I booked the hotel as it says it offer airport pickup. I’m ok to pay for pickup but the fact is they do not offer the service. Please remove it out as it will confuse others like it did to me "

"This hotel is close to the Center, in a very quiet street with a view of the Mombacho Volcano.
The Manager speaks very good English and to able to advise us on the places to see, always fussing really very nice!
the room are large and comfortable, the beds too, own bathroom and wifi works very well.
the terrace with the balcony upstairs with the view on the volcano is superb.
In addition it is the cheapest in the city, I really suggest!"

"From the moment I arrived at this hotel, I felt a sense of security. The staff is exceptionally friendly and goes out of their way to help with any need. The location is perfect—close to everything, yet just far enough for peace and quiet. With great amenities like a pool, reliable Wi-Fi, and a delicious breakfast, it’s truly reassuring to stay in a place where you feel safe and well taken care of."

"I would not recommend. The room smelled damp and the bathroom smelled like a urinal. The tv did not work. We asked how to turn on the AC and they said it was an extra $10 per day. Staff was helpful and location was walking distance to city center."

Whether you want to collect beach glass or watch the sunset, Chacocente Beach is a spot you might want to check out, located 18.7 mi (30 km) from central Santa Teresa. If you want to continue walking by the waves, head to Guasacate Beach, Rancho Santana Beach, and Santana Beach.
"Amazing experience. Beautiful hotel that is walkable to many touristy spots. Breakfast is to order and was good. The mattress was the only thing that was a little uncomfortable, but aside from that everything was perfect!!"
"One of my favorite stays while I visited Nicaragua. It is not only because of the amazing views or the beautiful rooms, but the staff. They are warm and friendly, building connections and community. All staff members were great, but Keiling, Alejandro, and Omar went out of their way for me. "
"We were grateful to stay in this location. It quiet and tucked away from the outside world. We were lucky enough to spend two nights here. The lady at the front desk was so kind and helpful with us and our Spanglish. She was happy to use google translate to make sure our needs were met. "
"The hotel and staff was great and so weee the owners. They built this hotel and are very involved with the daily operations. We arrived and were happy and when we left we were very sad to leave "
"Anthony (manager) was great! Their kitchen staff did a great job. I would tell you it’s advisable to get a 4x4. We made it in a Toyota Aice mini van but it was interesting to say the least. On the last day of our stay we met the owner very nice and reflected the staffs attentiveness. The tide pools are great to lounge and that pics! Thanks for a great experience."
"The hotel is very poor.
Cleanliness is bad - towels and bedding was marked, old and threadbare.
There was no bin in the room, no wardrobe or hangers.
The ‘kitchen’ area had a fridge but nothing else (no kettle, toaster, glassware, plates etc).
There was no hot water for the entire stay (turn the hot tap and nothing comes out). Cold showers only. The ‘bath mat’ to step out of the shower onto was a door welcome mat, and was filthy.
Breakfast was of a basic standard. Most of the staff were rude (ignoring greetings etc) although one of the staff members was chatty and lovely. "
"If you love Colonial arquitectura with a family feeling.. this is the place! The staff was super helpful and friendly, I can’t say enough of Carlos, he’s awesome."
"There are so many great things to say about this hotel.
Beginning with the staff, which is almost always the most important part of a hotel, they were all great. Very professional and accommodating. They were always there when we needed them.
The food was excellent. Every meal was a great experience. Our compliments to the chef!
The building and grounds were so nice. Everything looked brand new, and was very well maintained. The pool was really nice.
We stayed in the Magnolia suite. As a person who travels a lot, this room is way up on the list. Very spacious. It has a large secluded balcony with lounge chairs, recliners, a fully stocked mini bar (reasonably priced), and jacuzzi.
The property is a 5min drive or short walk to restaurants and the boats that go to the isletas. It is also only about 15min to downtown Granada.
Overall, we could not be more pleased with our stay. The weather wasn't great all the time. But, if we were locked in this hotel for our entire stay we would have still had a great vacation.
We will be back..."
"Only a few blocks from some of the main attractions of the city. Very nice facilities. Beautifully done remodel of an old historical building. We really enjoyed our stay. Off street secured parking. On our first morning after arriving, we woke up to a flat tire. The staff immediately came out and helped us change it. Didn’t even have to ask."
"This is a really nice hotel in Granada, Nicaragua (NOT IN SPAIN!) with a distinctive colonial feel to it. Staff are very friendly, helpful and work with you on any specific needs. Within a 10 to 15 minute walk there are local bazaars, a park, and many dining options not to mention local sights. The rooms too are fabulous - spacious, airy and nicely airconditioned. The bed and pillows were high end and very nice. All in all a very nice hotel to stay in. While the hotel will do evwrything they can ro make tour stay pleasant, when it comes to coping with the 90+ deg heat and high humidity (this was inay) you are on your own!"
"Pros: beautiful property in the middle of the jungle, private beach, and delicious food at the restaurant. They were very kind to upgrade our room close to the beach. It was a beautiful 2-story villa with a kitchen, private pool, a balcony, and AC in the bedroom.
Cons: lack of honesty and services
Leading up to the trip, we received a few emails telling us about all the activities and services available in the resort. They offered complementary hiking and snorkeling, and we could pay for yoga classes, spa treatments, romantic packages, and activities such as surfing, hikes on Mombacho and Omepete island, etc. None of that was available once we got there.
We asked the reception to book activities and they said they would call amd organize them. They never did. After a few days, we decided to book them ourselves through tour websites. We even asked them to call a nearby golfing course and they said they would. After 3 days, they said the golf course hadn't answered yet. My partner emailed the golf course and we got a response within 5 minutes.
The staff at the reception were very kind, but not helpful and the lack of honestly from the management really disappointed us. The restaurant staff were always great and the service was excellent. The reception even gave us the wrong opening hours for the restaurant so we showed up late one evening. The staff were still there and were so extremely kind to prepare us a meal even after closing."

"Hotel Boutique Mosaico was a very pleasant revelation. HB Mosaico truly lived up to their reputation. It was exactly as you'd expect from this category and caliber of stay. The place was Amazing. Very well decorated, very open spaces. Fantastic atmosphere. Great breeze. Lots of natural light.
The pool temperature was refreshing but not shocking. It was a Great space for relaxing and cooling.
Breakfast...???!...Very much an Authentic Traditional meal, with "Gallo Pinto", eggs, and fried sweet plantain. However, the kitchen was very accommodating and prepared a slight variation for the vegetarians, with rice and bean, fried plantain, and the ultimate treat, Fried Cheese....Delicious...
The hotel's location was very convenient for parking and within a 10 minute walk to Central Park and Calle La Calzada, which comes to life with amazing food, drinks and music. No shortage of food or Good Times!
Overall, this wasby far an experience that superseded expectations and will be one to repeat as often as I can."
"The ranch is an amazing property. Our room was beautiful, and we enjoyed the guided birdwatching and monkey trips offered. It was expensive to get there from the airport and back."
