"Unfussy hotel, decent food, beautiful views. Lovely onsen, although the property was obviously aged and certain parts had peeling paint. Overall a great stay for the price. "

"Chichibu Saitama is an amazing oasis with easy access from Ikebukuo. With most izykaya's offering Ichiro's Malt Whisky just makes it even better. Many shrines are also in the area and all are easy to walk to. Nipponia is an INCREDIBLE place to stay with every aspect exceeding my expectations. Near to most everything you would want to do in Chichibu makes it even better."

"The wooden bath was amazing!😆
If you are not familiar with Japanese-style inn, I recommend you bring an eye mask though. The rooms don't have curtains. Isnstead, they have shoji-paper sliding wall for windows which let the light in so the room may get quite bright in the morning,"

"Our stay at Ruokan Hiyoshi was the highlight of our day trip to Chichibu. It's about 7 min walk from the Seibu-Chichibu station, and 20 min walk to the Chichibu Shrine. The guesthouse was very clean, the amenities were excellent, and the owner was extremely accommodating and friendly! 2 of us in the group do not eat meat, and there was just NO vegan option at any restaurant, which was very sad, but you can find few (double check the ingredients) at the convenient stores (e.g. 7eleven, family...

"Was in town briefly for a wedding. The staff were incredibly hospitable and helpful. The room was satisfactory, though small by North American standards.
Everything was okay - nothing stood out as bad. The staff were absolutely amazing though!"

"Booked this hotel as there was nothing else available in Saitama or at least the area of Saitama I needed to be in. I was HAPPILY surprised by the hotel and it's staff. First there is parking and a decent amount, as I'm a driver this helped a lot. The staff spoke limited English, but more then enough to get checked in. They give complimentary breakfast and beer.... The location is incredible being only steps away from Fukaya station. I will definitely be coming back. "

Enpukuji Temple is just one of the landmarks located 0.9 mi (1.5 km) from central Minano, so you might want to stop by for a few pics during your trip.
"Our room was nice and clean, but not good for our elder who was using a walker. The bathroom required a step up which she could not make with her walker. Doorway also had a riser that made handicap access challenging.
Breakfast was so so.

"This hotel is above JR Takasaki station. Convenient location and a lot of places to eat and shop. The room is clean and very quiet. I had a comfortable bed. "
"An outstanding accommodation, staff service was excellent, the complex facilities were unmatched and food services were fresh and delicious. I highly recommended it if you are looking for a relaxing experience."
"Overall, a peaceful escape from the city. This is a great place to stay for hiking, nature walks, bouldering and river activities. It's near the station and some bus stops too. I really enjoyed the view from the window. The kitchen is small and there is only a microwave, but it was enough for me. There are no supermarkets or convenience stores nearby, but some local shops sell snacks and prepackaged foods. There is also a Chinese restaurant nearby with affordable food options. If you come outside of the main tourist season, many shops are closed. There are only two rooms at this pension. I imagine the walls are thin, so maybe it could get loud. However, I was the only guest when I stayed, so it was very quiet."
"Our stay was great. Checkin was easy just use the machine add your details and get code of the room.
Room was good, we had view of Shinkansen and trains.
Breakfast was delicious we loved it and again checkout was easy.
Cheerful and helpful staff, clean hotel and delicious healthy breakfast. Thank you hotel Sun!!!"
"A hot spring-style bath (onsen) is terrific. It helped me relax after the long international trip from the U.S. (Boston). The breakfast is just gorgeous. Both Western and Japanese-style food are delightful, especially for Westerners. Since most clients are male Japanese businessmen, you get to see the non-touristy, "real" side of Japan. "
"First time at this hotel and i was satisfied with my experience.
The rooms are not big , but is exactly as the pictures shown.
Front desk nice and polite and the area is very close to restaurants and shops.
Clean rooms, clean bathrooms and convenient laundry room inside the hotel.
I will stay again. "
"Hotel property is a bit away from most things so it's best to either take a taxi or to drive. We stayed one night, New Year's eve, so not much was open. However there is a giant supermarket across the street so you can get most anything you want to buy even pre-made food The hotel serves a microwaveable small meal, 4 choices. Nothing great, but edible. We walked to the silk mill then yo the train station
"
"Excellent location, room and impeccable service as usual. Walking distance from Takasaki Eki, Montres, OPA/Aeon, restaurants, Takasaki Arena, Museums, and the Concourse!"
"We stayed the hotel as the closest one to our last destination on the day. We preferred the one with hot springs but we discovered it has man-made hotspring which was good enough for me to enjoy. The hotel seems to be popular for male businessmen much less female guests so that the I had a big public bath on my own. You find many choices for breakfast and you can get Japanese news paper as Free of charge. The hotel is at on a aroute 17. If you travl a car, the hotel can be convenient stay."
