This was the perfect place for us to stay as it was exactly halfway between Santander and the house we're renovating in the area. Highly recommended and will use this hotel as overflow property when multiple family and friends come to visit but don't all fit in our house.😂"

"The posada was a comfortable place offering a good breakfast. The location was ideal for us exploring Cantabria. The staff were helpful and friendly, and via Google Translate, we were given good recommendations (and help with booking) on places to eat, places to visit/walks etc.
As it’s name implies, it is set in a small village, so having a car is ideal, although the train station is just opposite.

Helpful staff as there are limiited dining options, so be prepared to drive somewhere to eat. Not easy to spot the entrance to the hotel. "I was very surprised at how amazing this place was. I spent 2 weeks traveling in Spain, and out of my 6 stays, this was the best experience overall. Upon arrival, I was greeted with a short meeting to discuss recommendations about the area (with maps), which was very helpful! I can tell the staff takes pride in their hotel and the area they live in. Breakfast was fresh and delicious, the property was beautiful, and I noticed small considerate details every time the room was cleaned. If I ever have a chance again, I will definitely go back to Posada Lunada. "
"This is a simple and charming hotel in a great neighbourhood, close but not in the centre of the city, very walkable and safe. My room was extremely clean, the bed was comfortable and the room had everything I needed. The included breakfast was in the restaurant that is part of the hotel and it was great, with fresh squeezed orange juice, excellent coffee and I chose the Spanish tortilla every morning and it was one of the best tortillas I’ve had in Spain, in a very warm and friendly restaurant full of locals coming in for their breakfast. This is a great hotel if you’re not looking for a more expensive corporate style hotel and I highly recommend it."

Not in the heart of things and no lobby as it is kind of an "apart-hotel" but the size, cleanliness and price made it a pleasant, memorable stay. Staff was super kind and welcoming. "The only thing is that due to its location the parking is complicated and smelly, we just left the car in there to the last day. The breakfast buffet was just good, but they don’t clean the used tables, so we moved the dirty dishes ti another table to be able to seat where we want, and you need to ask for juice etc; the staff were good and nice, but what happen is that there’re only two workers; they moved fast and wanted to help everyone but there were much of guest for only two staff. On the other hand Marea Alta has great menu and the staff was very professional and friendly; the paella was exquisite, I recommend it. "
