"Happy with property not so happy with hotel.com not letting me use my gift card or being reachable by phone- finally get a human and still can’t use the gift card The property was was very nice just be aware of the elevator, it’s old and they tell you to watch your step and I forgot and tripped but there’s a VibesUp store nearby and they fixed my sore knee quickly! "This is a great deal. If you need a clean place to stay the night in a safe area this is your choice. Very simple design with upgraded interior and has fridge and microwave. Basically two bedrooms to sleep in and bathroom /shower but perfect for what we needed coming in late. "

"I highly recommend this property 5 mins drive to Red Hawk casino!! just next door to Dennys Carls Jr and 10 mins walk to a plaza safeway..dollar store Bank of america so convenient!!!Building looks old but the room was clean and shower pressure was great Bed so Comfortable with microwave and refrigerator.I will definitely will keep on coming back!Great value place to stay"

"This is a recently renovated Gold Rush era hotel, very quaint and authentic. The rooms and bathrooms have been updated to modern standards which is nice, but have authentic period decor/antiques. The town is VERY small and cute, extremely quiet (in general) and a walkable historic self-guided tour. It makes a great base of operations for exploring the area. A couple of things to know: it is 3 story, but because of the age, there is no elevator (typical with Gold Rush era hotels). They have one room on the ground floor for ADA compliance. The town is so small that they don’t have any other businesses besides a small general store and post office, so you must drive to find anything else to do. As of this moment there is no restaurant or bar, but the hotel owner is working on that and says that pending permit approvals, should open their restaurant and bar this year. During the week, breakfast is just self-serve coffee and cereal, but they offer more on weekends. Despite it being so quiet, there is an active train track not far from the town and although we didn’t hear it (the road crossing was far enough away), it’s worth noting. Most of the small Gold Rush era towns along I-80 have this issue, just be aware. We were thrilled with the experience and authenticity of it and will go again. "

"I need to travel to grass Valley for two months for my nursing program. I found this hotel and decided to book it based on the price and was not expecting much because of the price. I was pleasantly surprised! The unit is very big. When you first walk in, you have a bathroom area to the left and then a fridge and microwave on the right and then you walk down a few stairs into the actual room which is a very large space. It doesn’t come with a lot of extras, but it was definitely worth the price and the surrounding area is quiet and pretty. I liked it so much that I booked it out every week for my clinical rotation that I am there."
