"Very much enjoyed our stay at Casa Real. The staff were very attentive, polite and patient with us. We do not speak any Spanish, and the staff did not speak English, but it was easily accommodated by using translation on our phones and texting through What’sApp. As Canadian travellers this hotel seemed very elegantly furnished. The dining facilities and the bar felt like what the luxury hotels of 100 years ago would be like in the best way. There were very few other guests when we stayed there. I think it was the low season."
"The location is 5 minutes from the bus terminal and 3 minutes from the plaza. Room a d sheet is as clean as international chains. The lovely couple run the hotel and you get well served for breakfast. Strongly recommend"
"Es mi segunda experiencia en el hotel y sigo pensando igual. Maravillosa experiencia empezando por la chica de recepcion y el resto de personal muy amables y serviciales. 10/10 recomendado.El hotel es precioso y acogedor, la ubicacion es exelente, es muy limpio,...100% recomendado."
"Our problem was with Expidia. It was necessary to pay in the hotel again. Because he never got the money from Expidia.
The people in the hotel was really fantastic and very good hotel.
The answer Expidia was really bad. "
"I stayed at El Mirador de Villa de Leyva from Friday to Sunday and overall had a great experience. The hotel is rustic and simple, but the view from the room is absolutely stunning—overlooking all of Villa de Leyva and the surrounding mountains. That view alone made the stay worth it.
The room was spacious and clean, with hot water and a comfortable temperature (no A/C needed). It’s quiet and peaceful, perfect for relaxing. The hotel includes a small restaurant where they serve a basic Colombian breakfast—nothing fancy but good enough to start the day. I didn’t try lunch or dinner.
Staff is limited but very friendly and attentive. One thing to keep in mind: the road to the hotel is unpaved. Our GPS first sent us through a steep back entrance that felt unsafe—make sure to use the front road instead.
While the hotel isn’t within walking distance of the plaza, it’s a short drive away. Once there, you’ll find tons of restaurants (local and international) at great prices, plus plenty of shops to buy souvenirs and crafts.
If you’re looking for a quiet, scenic, no-frills place to stay with one of the best views in town, I’d definitely recommend it.
"
"The staff is fantastic! They are so helpful even though we didn’t know Spanish, they were making an effort to converse with us with a constant smile. "
"This is an amazing and relaxing property. It is well maintained with a beautiful landscape, a great pool area and an entertaining section for either families or couples.
The room was gorgeous with a very comfortable kind sized bed, wooden fixtures and a colonial style that offers an amazing view of the mountain chain.
The breakfast was well portioned and the restaurant area itself is eye catching.
Besides the colonial style of this property, that goes along Villa De Leyva’s attractiveness, the best were the company of the two cute dogs and the helpful & respectful workers.
"
"Nos encantó esta propiedad, muy cómodas instalaciones, limpio y seguro. El único contra que tengo, el la ubicación del microwave, demasiado alto, lo cual se me hace algo peligroso para usar. "
"This place serves an important social service since otherwise the people from the south slums of Bogota could not possibly visit Villa de Leyva. The srevice is high in intentions but terrible in outcome. The breakfast coffee, wait for it, instant coffee (that should be illegal in Colombia)!. Water peessure dreadful. You have to pay a deposit so you don't steal the dreadful towels (as if), which tell you the type of customers they host. The wifi is excellent for Boyacá standards., though."
"Terrible experience. The room was super dirty, the bathroom was completely nasty. No warm water until I went down for it for 3 times and then it still took 2 hours.
Breakfast was to cry about; dirty kitchen, almost expired food. The lady working the kitchen was the only friendly staff member.
Check-in was really uncomfortable as they made it seem we were bothering and inconvenient.
Overall a really really bad experience. "
