We really liked our room, it was modern, clean & the communal kitchen & complimentary bottled water was a plus. The beds were comfy and the room was well equipped for our toddler and baby, with a baby changing table, potty and step. The staff couldn't do enough to accommodate us, especially as my partner had a dairy allergy, they contacted the bakery for allergens and made him fried eggs as the eggs usually on offer contained dairy. Our only niggle (which the guest house can't do anything about) is that there was no lift, and we had to park our car across the road from the hotel. We had to make several trips to and from the car for all our luggage & as you can imagine we don't travel light with two little ones, it meant several trips up and down a flight of stairs, luckily it was just one flight of stairs though.
There was even an area for kids to play at breakfast time and a high chair for our young baby (supported).
I also wasn't aware of a tourist tax for the Black Forest & don't recall it being mentioned when we booked the hotel. We were given a guest card on arrival.
