This is a functional hotel, nothing fancy. Bedroom was a good size with mini fridge. Generally it was clean but I did find a previous guests false fingernail by the window. It's not too far from the main railway station, but my wife was put off a bit by some of the characters hanging around the street between the station and the hotel, particularly at night. Over all it was good value, the breakfast was a cold buffet but was quite tasty. I'd stay there again.

I have stayed in this hotel before, and it has always been ok. Nothing fancy, but if you are looking for a bed with clean sheets, a clean toilet and shower, and a good breakfast in a handy location, this will do it. However, I wont go to this place again anytime soon as this time I woke up with the bed full of BEDBUGS. I informed the reception right away and they apologized and asked me to contact the "boss" by email. I did that but never got an answer. I understand that bedbugs are a very common problem also in better hotels, but if this is the way this hotel handles the issue, by not even answering their client, I would not trust that they will sort the issue. Therefore, I would stay away from this hotel!

first i was able to put my bags in the hotel as i was early in the morning - the people on the reception where very good and polite - the breakfast room was good as it had good choice of food - the room was very good the bed was very comfortable and the room a decent size which included the bathroom

Next to bus terminal, line 2 in 10 mins to Speicherstadt and main station, this hotel has perfect location if you come without car. Spacious, clean, well maintained, but not brand new room, quite silent to the court side. Tasty continental breakfast buffet and friendly staff. Good for short stay to visit Hamburg's attractions.

The hotel is conveniently located near the Hamburg train station and the pretty St Georg area. The hotel staff are friendly. Our room and bathroom was spacious and clean. The hotel provided free lugguage storage service, which was wonderful! We also had a very enjoyable breakfast. We highly recommend 'Hotel Alte Wache'.

The location was great as it's near the central train station.Lots of dining options and places to go to in the area. Very hustle and bustle area on the streets nearby with lots of people around. The lift has no key card and i worry about security as it's so central and in the city and anybody could just come up to the floors.
