We enjoyed our stay at Gannett Peak Lodge. The beds were very comfortable. Room was spotless. Management was helpful and made check in and check out easy. We were close to restaurants, bars and coffee shops. We had some great hikes in the area close by. We would definitely stay here again.

Cute but really an old motel at heart

Gannett Peak Lodge is a cute place, but the buildings are old. Formerly CCC cabins, they have thin walls, uneven floors and everything else that goes along with being close to 90 year-old buildings. All this came to the fore when I settled in to sleep, it’s a quiet town, and then I heard my neighbor snoring through the walls. Don’t set your expectations too high.

It was a pleasure to stay there. The inside of the unit as well as the outside grounds were meticulously clean. The owner, Forrest, took me to my unit and showed me where everything was, gave me ideas of where to explore the area, and also some good restaurants to have a nice meal. An impeccably clean and well maintained property, clean room and a warm welcome. Despite arriving after hours my key was easily available and they had turned on a welcome light and warmed up the room since temperatures were expected to be pretty low upon my arrival. The owner was there to greet us and show us to our room. I liked that this lodge has a historical significance in Pine Dale. Bring your passwords for tv stations like Netflix, Prime, etc. because there are just a few channels to select from that are free. It had just opened up for the season the weekend we went. Good food within walking distance. The Heart and Soul cafe is a quaint place with good food and large portions.

Easy check-in! We let them know we were going to arrive after 8pm and they gave us instructions on how to access our room. We also accidentally locked ourselves out but a staff member came right away and unlocked our door. The doors lock automatically, which also did help us feel safe. It was quiet, room was very clean. Had a fridge and microwave, which was nice. Easy parking just right outside the room. Check out was super easy; just drop the key off in their special box. Overall, great stay and I’d stay again!
