Sage should be ashamed
Terrible stay. There is construction noise flat out. There is a major project directly opposite which will continue for a long time. We were given no advance notice. Contractors had permits to work from 6.30pm to 6.30am- reversing trucks, drilling, shouting occurred in the night. 6.45 am the daytime contractors commenced their drilling, reverberating through the entire hotel. It was difficult to sleep at anytime. If I was told in advance about these long term works- I could make a decision, but to keel this type of non stop construction a secret from guests until they arrive? That’s shameful.

Wouldn't amend date of stay by 1 night
I booked this room for my partner and I as a suprise for us both however the date of the stay was wrong by 1 night and the hotel refused to amend the date. So we are out of pocket $250 and never got the night away that we desperately needed. I will never recommend this place to anyone after how unhelpful they were.

Construction zone across the street with jackhammers starting at 6am - nothing posted on website and nothing said at check in. A letter greeted me in my room announcing the issue. Looks like this project will be ongoing for at least 2 years so be warned your sleep is over at 6am.

Pet Friendly Doggo Heaven!
We have stayed many a time at Sage Hotel James Street in Brisbane because it offers great value for money, friendly and helpful service and great location. Now, as we have been dog-sitting our Granddoggy Loki, we needed to find a hotel that was Pet-Friendly for a recent sojourn to Brisbane, and were delighted to find that Sage is precisely that. Loki was made to feel very welcome, with a lovely memory foam mattress doggy-bed, special treats, and what's more, Dinosaur Design dog-bowls!!! We can highly recommend Sage Hotel for anyone who needs accommodation in one of Brisbane's hot spots wishing to share the experience with their doggo!
