We were on the second floor and would not have chosen the hotel knowing this. The stairs were not good for a senior. And, the bathroom was VERY small. However, we ate in the dining room twice and the food and service was excellent.

A good traditional pub-hotel. Food was excellent and a real buzzing atmosphere on a Saturday night. Bike-heaven with the excellent surrounding trails although on this occasion we were simply passing through. Definitely recommended.

Nice hotel

Lovely hotel, staff were so friendly and attentive, check in was easy and parking was ample. The room was decorated beautifully and we were happy with the street view. Close to town, easy to walk around and go out for a drink or coffee nearby. I will say, the bathroom was disappointing - there was hair in the shower and it was dirty so that was a bit off putting. Also, the bed was two singles bolted together but the bolt at the head of the bed had fallen off so it separated during the night (had to get a head torch out to see what the issue was). We ate at the restaurant and the food was incredible - we will definitely stay again.

The room was booked as a twin, but should have been a single. It was so small we had to put one carryon size bad in the closet, because there was not enough floor space for 2 carryon bags. The bathroom door didn’t open all the way because it hit the bed. The food, however, was quirkier good.

Very disappointing stay. Room adequate, dated with a couple of issues. Toilet difficult to flush, no tube in light above sink. Quilt too small for bed. Booked for dinner at 1820 and already running out of dishes on the menu. Breakfast 😖 menu dishes incomplete, no porridge, no fresh fruit, tea refil - pot returned with same tea bag. Requested toast numerous times, in turns gave up! For £95 pounds I expected more. Will carry on to Peebles next time.
