We made last minute plans for an Eastern Shore get away for a restful weekend of biking, kayaking and reading and much needed time together and were delighted to find this property. David and Greg were very communicative and son generous to let us stay a few extra hours for one last kayak! Lovely views and not too many motor boats. The on site coffee bar was all we really needed, so going out for breakfast and other meals not a problem for us.

Our trip to Kingsbay was amazing! You cannot even imagine how great it is until you drive down the road to the mansion. David and Jerry have done an amazing job restoring this jewel. An experience that is not to be missed if you are in the area. EXCELLENT!

Kings Bay Cottage was a perfect fit for a couple or a small family with young kids. Rather small space but with great amenities. Allowed for cooking, shops nearby. Private cottage is on the opposite side of the lake from the mansion and was overall a very relaxing place in a quiet and rural area. Great hospitality and we got a tour of the mansion by the owners. Space was clean and neat.

My husband and I spent our 10-year anniversary at KingsBay this Labor Day weekend. It was exactly the getaway we were hoping for. The mansion, landscape, and peaceful serenity was so beautiful. We had an amazing time, relaxing at the pool, going into small towns, and meeting new amazing people. David and Jerry welcomed us so warmly, it felt like we have known them for years. Such good, kind, genuine people. We certainly will go back.

I set this accommodation up for our employee who was doing work at UMES. Our employee has traveled extensively and stayed in many hotels etc. I can honestly say that he has never spoken so highly of an accommodation as he did the Kings Bay Mansion. So much so that this will be our go to for all our trips to the area. Thank you very much for such hospitality and graciousness.

Going to the eastern shore offers lots of things--great small towns, the beauty of the Bay and it's tribs, lots of birds, and a place to restore your soul. That's what we were looking for, and KingsBay offered us all these things and more. It's a beautiful place to stay; quiet and charming. Gerry and David are not only gracious hosts, they are the kind of people you would want to sit down and talk to, as their backgrounds and knowledge of their area are remarkable. A wonderful visit!

We spent the night of our 44th wedding anniversary here. What a first class facility! From the moment we arrived to the time of our departure we felt welcomed and were made to feel special by the owners, Dave and Jerry.
We learned much about the history of the house, previous owners and the beautiful grounds from them. They were full of information about the area, including local museums and restaurants to visit while we were there.
After a wonderful night's sleep in the most comfortable bed, we welcomed breakfast in that beautiful dining room. I can't say enough about the breakfast served. Fresh juice, luscious fruit, a variety of breads, delightful eggs, meats galore...only surpassed by the elegant place settings and beautiful linens adorning the table. Jerry sets a high bar when it comes to creating delicious breakfasts!
We do have one regret...it was that we were not able to stay longer. KingsBay is on our short list of places to stay while on the eastern shore of Maryland. We highly recommend it to all and are passing on the good news to our family and friends!

I planned a photography weekend for my niece and we were not disappointed. The Mansion and grounds were perfect for practicing, plus the beautiful sunset was a bonus!! Jerry and David are very personable and gracious hosts. Their attentiveness and genuine interest in their guest was very apparent. Although we only stayed one night, we thoroughly enjoyed the accommodations and breakfast was outstanding! I will definitely be traveling there again! T. O'Rourke

A beautiful mansion (recently built in 1970's, and beautifully maintained with AC) with the peace and quiet we needed to relax and enjoy the weekend. On Sunday we took an excursion to Tangier Island, when we returned we went to the pool and relaxed. The breakfast was gourmet and very filling. The owners are very knowledgeable and fun.

What a beautiful place to stay and Dave and Jerry were our hosts and they couldn't have been more congenial. My only regret is that we only booked one night as part of a longer trip and now I wish we had stayed longer. Next time we surely will.

My wife and I decided to stay here after our wedding night and we were blown away. The service was outstanding and catered to your evening need. The rooms were excellent and the property was beautiful. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and the much needed after a night of celebration. A perfect romantic evening. We will certainly be back to celebrate our anniversary.

we just returned from an absolutely wonderful week at the kingsbay waterside cottage and could not have been happier. jerry and david are wonderful hosts and made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived and made sure that we had everything that we might have needed during our stay. the cottage is just beautiful, spotlessly maintained and fully equipped. if you like to cook, the kitchen is an absolute gourmet delight with all the pots, pans and utensils that you might need. if cooking is not what you'd like to do while on vacation, there are plenty of great places to eat within an easy drive or bike ride away ranging from fine dining to roadside crab shacks. we had some of the most comfortable and restful night's sleep during our stay and the air conditioner/heater unit is great for when the temperatures call for it but the numerous windows and open design offers great cross circulation and allows the sounds of nature to lull you to sleep at night and wake you gently in the morning. the location provides the perfect home base to explore the eastern shore and the roads are perfect for bicycling with many wonderful destinations an easy and flat ride away. we also brought along our kayaks which we launched right off the pier that is on the property so no need to haul your boats back and forth although there are numerous places to explore within easy reach such as janes island state park with its great water trails. the kingsbay waterside cottage is certainly a place that i would recommend to anyone looking for a beautiful getaway spot on the eastern shore.

We stayed here for a weekend with friends to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary.
This was a beautiful place...quiet and the innkeepers were the great hosts. Very welcoming and always prepared an elegant breakfast to start your day Great place to stay if you go to The Crab Place for a Crab and Cruise event .

Kingsbay Mansion is located on a peninsula overlooking a creek that flows into the Chesapeake Bay. You reach it from a long tree-lined driveway off a country road. You would never expect to find such a home in this place, and there is a long history as to why it is there--the owners will tell you the story if you wish.
The property has been tastefully restored and has unique and elegant furnishings throughout. It has been open to the public for just over a year, so it is yet to be discovered, but I suspect you will be hard-pressed to find a more beautiful place on the Delmarva.
This is a great destination; on weekdays, you might have the home to yourself and feel as if you've left your daily life behind and are now living in a different time and place.
It is a journey more than worth your time.

Absolutely a stunning location to take in the sunset. The house itself is a sight unlike anything else in the entire town, and you feel you've been transported onto a movie set.
Each room is a work of art, reflective of the dynamic duo that own the place. They make you feel right at home as if you've always known each other, which helps explain how scrumptious their breakfasts are.
If you are ever given the opportunity to take shelter within this Bed and Breakfast, you absolutely must do it.

Our team of 4 stayed at the Inn while we were working in the area. The setting is incredibly beautiful, the hosts are gracious and the rooms were lovely and comfortable. The delicious breakfast was a real treat.
