Great service, very comfortable room. Food was excellent with good size portions and reasonably price. Great breakfast. I would 100% recommend Winchelsea Lodge.
Robert, 1-night trip

10/10 Excellent

A beautiful property with quaint gardens within the grounds. Room was for four of us, we had a double bed and a bunk. It was a small room but perfect for us. Bright, airy, and clean with an ensuite shower. Breakfast was included and was a great selection of hot, fresh fruit, cereals with coffee and juices. Would definitely come back and wholeheartedly recommended.

8/10 Good

The staff were excellent and did a great job with a smile regardless of the fact they were short staffed. The room was ok overall, clean and comfortable. The bathroom is a wet room which is fine however mould in the grout lines was taking hold, probably due to being short staffed. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay again. (For a third visit)
Mark, 2-night trip

Phil, 2-night trip

10/10 Excellent

The staff and owner made our stay memorable, their attention to making sure their customers needs were met, the rooms were very clean, the restaurant menu was very good and was freshly cooked. This is an ideal place for artists and bird watchers the view from the room is unbelievable, also the bird life sight and sound is brilliant. Can't recommend the Lodge enough. There are places

6/10 Okay

The en-suite bathroom was the worst I have ever seen. This hotel does not deserve a 4-star rating
Clive, 3-night trip

10/10 Excellent

My room was nice and clean with a very comfy bed. The bathroom needed a lick of paint but was perfectly serviceable. Breakfast was superb!
Alan, 1-night trip

10/10 Excellent

Nice one night break, clean and tidy, couldnt turn the heating off in the bathroom, but other than that was nice
Laura, 1-night trip

2/10 Terrible

Absolutely disappointing stay. The room was incredibly cramped — barely enough space to move around. The beds felt cheap and flimsy, with uncomfortable mattresses where you could feel the springs digging into your back. The bathroom was basic to the point of being bare — leaking taps, barely any water pressure, and just generally poor maintenance. We requested a standard midday checkout, which most places offer without fuss, but the staff were unhelpful and insisted on an 11am checkout, which felt petty and rigid. For £118 a night, the experience was nowhere near worth it — I’ve had far better stays at Travelodge or Premier Inn for less than half the price. Overall, not recommended. Save your money and book elsewhere.
