Every inch of the hotel has been thought out, if there is anything the staff could do, they did to make our stay more comfortable. Here are our highlights 1. Room upgrade 2. Live music at the pool and in multiple other places in the hotel 3. Room service for anything we needed in under 30 secs most of the time 4. So many nice smiles from the staff 5. FOOD - amazing food. Cooked to perfection, there were no unnecessary spices or oils to mask the actual taste. Best food we enjoyed in our 2.5 weeks we were in India. Highly recommended, its once in a lift time experience.

Iconic hotel , first five star hotel in India with electricity 100+ year old property. We initially booked executive suite facing city, however that was not so impressive , but then we asked for better room and we were upgraded to grand luxury suite for nominal fee and that was facing gateway of India with balcony and it was very nice and luxurious.

Taj experience

It was overall a underwhelming experience. We chose the Taj Palace as it is meant to be ‘ the hotel’. But I think apart from the name and the location, we have definitely stayed in better 5 star hotels. I’m glad we didn’t chose to spend our entire trip at the Taj- it seems more catered to the taste of foreign Individuals. The staff- whilst very friendly and helpful, overall aren’t as warm and welcoming as we found at other 5 star hotels- there’s a certain tension you feel, perhaps due to the various guests they have to please. It’s one of those things ticked off the list- but certainly won’t be rushing back . The food, condition of the rooms, staff etc are much much better at other hotels in Mumbai particulalry The Fairmont. The buffet especially was relatively underwhelming and it honestly beggars belief that pastry chefs in India can’t manage to make many egg free options - honestly?
