We loved the Valcour Inn

Everything was so nice we didn't want to leave! Laura was an amazing hostess. The peaceful patio was a favorite. The views were so beautiful. We can't wait to go back!!

Yes. Everything was super! A perfect short escape by the tranquil banks of the lake—made all the more memorable by the gracious care of unseen hosts. The thoughtful upgrade to a suite added a touch of comfort and completeness, turning our stay into a truly cherished experience.”

Nice quiet get away place. Beautiful porch that opens from your room to sit and enjoy a sunset or start the day with coffee and a sunrise looking out over the lake. Rooms are good size and comfortable. Amenities were available as needed. Highly recommend!

Michael was great to work with on a need we had. He was pleasant, timely, and accommodating. Excellent place to stay. The bed was clean and comfortable, and the room was cool in the summer. It had a small fridge, microwave, basic kitchen needs, a convection plate, and a sink with some dishes and glasses. We would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Valcour Inn was an unexpected gem. The waterfront property with gorgeously maintained grounds was a wonderful place to relax and recharge. With only a few rooms it was always peaceful and quiet. I have no plans in that immediate area but will go again just to stay at this establishment

I loved the easy people free check in. We didn’t see a soul the entire stay. Beautiful covered porch off of the room overlooking Lake Champlain. Coffee, tea and snacks right outside the door.

Nice, quaint place that was close to our destination: Ausable Chasm. Grounds were beautiful, rooms were cute and clean. The property is remote which was fine for us
Frank, 2-night trip

Except for some repairs that were promptly made, the room was comfortable. Our stay lived up to the promised service.

This is unique, well kept, historic property with all of the modern amenities. We attended a wedding of a family member over the Labor Day weekend. Views are stunning, facility in very good condition, quiet, and easily reached, via rail, air or car. The wedding food was good, but again cooking in a boathouse has to be a challenge. All in all it was a fabulous venue for a large gathering.

Beautiful property, clean and comfortable room. It is a historic building, so there is not a lot of toiletry space. We loved the availability of water and coffee and ice at all hours, that was a wonderful amenity, and you could not beat the view! Just gorgeous! Close drive to Ausable Chasm (why we were there) and to many restaurants. Would definitely stay again! Thank you!

a most picturesque hotel at an historic site

the "pre-packaged" Breakfast was "convenient" but really the kind of breakfast available in a convenience store at a petrol station. Packaged food swee4t bun, a stale and dry orange (inedible), decent Yoghurt, mediocre coffee in a box for each guest, and no interior dining room (just outdoor terrace too cold for comfort. But the location is SUPERB, overlooking the lake and A SPACIOUS terrace balcony facing the site of one of the most crucial battles of the American Revolution that stopped the British invasion of Lake Champlain and helped ensure American vistory at Saratoga the foloiwing year.

Beautiful room, beautiful views

Wow, what a great room! Massive, beautifully decorated, quiet, and a big balcony overlooking the lake. Cleanest hotel ever! Only downside is the boxed breakfast, mostly not good. But otherwise perfect,

The property was great! Peaceful location. Our intention had been to hike and found ourselves to be a bit further from the Adirondack hiking trails than we thought. Not much going on in Plattsburgh in the evenings. Seemed everything closed early.
April, 3-night trip

8/10 Very good

Great location and view. Checked in...sheet left on table and never saw anyone from facility. Breakfast was stuff left in refrigerator or on counter.

Paradise along lake Champlain.

I had amazingly comfortable time at the Valcour Inn and Boathouse. This is the first time that I stayed at a property where I had zero interaction with a property employee. At first a was a bit hesitant because I thought, what if I need something? I didn’t need anything. Everything I wanted was there for me and I slept like a baby every night.
John, 3-night trip

I loved the setting and the history. The grounds were well kept and what a view. The outside of the building could use some work as paint was visibly peeling all over. However, our room was lovely and well decorated. I didn't see a staff member while we were there, but didn't need to seek anyone out so that was fine. All in all, a great stay. Couldn't believe when we first got there that we seemed to be the only ones (more came later)..
Michael, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Great location to relax and unwind. Both the Inn and its surroundings are kept in very good condition. Unfortunately, it is not meant for travellers without an internet or phone connection, as there is no personnel to greet you upon arrival. We struggled with the access code, as we did not receive instructions prior to our arrival. Luckily, the boathouse was open and we got help from them. There was dust, lint and dead bugs in the room. Not a big deal for us, but worth mentioning so management can take action. The mornings become noisy, as the cleaning staff start early their activities. Adjustment to these observations would make for a great place to stay.
Fabio, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Beautiful view from the balcony of our room (#3). Our room had a queen n double. The beds needed some updating, so I was glad I got 2 beds instead of just one. The room was spacey but the bathroom small. When I the bathroom there was a loud noise. They had a small refrigerator that had Almond Milk in it and no shelves. Then they had a large cooler that you could see inside it without opening the doors. They supplied juice and creamers, cream cheese and butter. We used one shelf for our dinner that we brought back to eat later. We had dinner on the lower balcony that had round table and chairs. It was fine until a mouse came around and under the table. I know it was outside but not something I wanted to see why eating. So when you check in there is a table by the door where you will find a sheet with your instructions and code. On the second floor in the hallway is a table that has dishes and coffee pot and tea pot. On the other side is bagels under a covered that everyone takes from plus another container of muffins (that were Hugh). The best part was the view. Down the street was a boating launch where we saw lighthouse across the water. That was what our trip was about lighthouses. The thing I didn’t care much about was customer service nobody was there but per the instruction was phone call away. No check in before 4pm.

We loved the view of Lake Champlain and the quietness of the area. There was an event going on one night but they were gone by the time we returned around 7:30. Continental breakfast was good. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom very clean and roomy for two people. I would return!
