Dear Generator Team, I’m writing to share some feedback from my recent stay. The night before an important business meeting, I spoke with the front desk and was assured that I could use an iron in the laundry room the following morning. I also called in advance to confirm this. However, when I went to the laundry room the next morning, there was no iron available. This caused a major inconvenience, as I was unable to iron my clothes before my meeting and had to attend looking unprofessional. Given the nature of my visit, this was particularly disappointing. I value clear and accurate communication, especially when it concerns essential amenities. I hope steps can be taken to ensure other guests don’t experience a similar issue in the future. For some reason there is a private party-room you can rent located right outside the rooms - to prepare yourself to lay awake in your bed even if you bring earpods. Compared to other hostels the beds don't provide a lot of privacy / protection from the light in the room. This means that as soon as someone turns on a light your bed will also be lit up quite a bit. I recommend staying at another hostel / hotel.

Pros: - dorm was cheap - nice cafe - friendly staff & guests - 10 min away from central bus station (but a bit far with luggages when it's ~-10°C) - 12 min away from subway station Cons: - had to pay for lockers to store luggages & bags - lift was broken so had to carry luggages downstairs to catch airport shuttle - requested to keep ID as the only mean of deposit for using hair dryer - bed frame & mattress were a bit dirty

Second time staying here. Good for a no-frills stay. There is no kitchen and luggage storage costs extra (40 SEK / 8 hours). The ensuite bathroom is small and dated but clean. It has a large institutional feel to it, which you may or may not like. The only common area is the ground floor bar.

I booked this place due to it's location as there were not many choices available. As there were 6 of us and we like staying together, we booked the room for six. We came from living in houses with space so we found the room is extremely small for the six of us that we need to adjust to accommodate everybody. Luckily everybody was accommodating and has high spirit and we had a good stay for 5 days. It would be good if Generator hv spacious room for six and they can charge higher price and i will still go for it. We had great experience in other hostel chain like the Meininger in a few European cities where the room for six combined queen bed with bunk beds and is spacious and comfortable. We also felt that the staffs in the restaurants was not helpful and not friendly to us foreigner. During check-in the staff told us they could help heating up our food if require, so we went to buy cinnamon roll which is typical food in Sweden to try. But the staff at the breakfast told us they do not help heating up food from outside so it means we could not eat the cinnamon rolls that we would like to have a taste. Worth mention that during our stay at Grand Hansa Helsinki a week before we came to Stockholm, which is a 5 stars hotel, i overheard the reception told a guest he can help heating up their food at the staff pantry and it will only takes 10 minutes and he can then deliver the food to their room.

Renting the bigger towels for showering is fine but not having a single small towel to dry hands in the toilet is pretty sad. Also, the check out time at 10.00am is already ridiculously early so there really should not be need for the cleaning stuff to come knocking on the door ar 9.00am.
