10/10 Exceptional

I had a wonderful stay at Casaliza Hotel Boutique this past December and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting San Miguel de Allende. The hotel has a charming atmosphere, and the rooms were not only clean but also beautifully decorated, making for a very comfortable and relaxing stay. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, always making sure I had everything I needed. The location was also perfect — close enough to explore the area, yet peaceful enough to unwind at the end of the day. Overall, Casaliza Hotel boutique provided a fantastic experience, and I would happily stay there again in the future.

Great location, descent rooms. Rooms can use an upgrade. A coffee maker and small fridge in the rooms would go a long way specially during times the independent restaurant located within the property is not open. Staff was very responsive and friendly. Would stay here again.

Beautiful hotel with minor drawback

The staff is friendly, and the overall ambiance is very charming. However, my only complaint is the restaurant located in the courtyard below the rooms. They start playing music at 8 AM, which, although not excessively loud, was enough to wake us up earlier than planned. If you’re a light sleeper or value sleeping in, this might be something to consider. Otherwise, it’s a lovely place to stay!

We loved our stay at Casa Liza… the staff are very nice and the hotel is quaint and very beautiful…. not perfect by any stretch, but quite lovely.

The room is huge, clean and bed is super comfy and propety grounds are beautiful. Only hot water in bathroom sink. No shampoo provided. No really seating area on grounds just a very dirty tiny area in porch outside. With very uncomfortable furniture. No chairs to sit in the room. We had yo sot on the bed. I asked for chairs to sit and they immediately brought two very inncomfortable wooden chairs. The restaurant in the hotel is super super expensive. No common area on the hotel. Price was very good butva would spend more money for a more comfy place. No air condition in room. Ceiling fan cNno be adjusted only runs,at full speed. Tiny containers of gel for shower. No wash cloth available. Water in sink only hot nocold water so it gets very hot.

Great room - felt like in high end hotel with such a view off the balcony. Great to drink my Starbucks and eat my cake from bakery down the road while watching the sunset. Property provided 2 free water bottles everyday. Great checking experience - front desk responsive. Great shower with lots of hot water. Would recommend!!

Great stay

Check in was easy though they are strict about no check in before 3pm. The room was large, airy, and clean, with a pleasant old Mexican style. Because it was my birthday, they had flower petals strewn about in the bath room, and also sent up a bottle of wine. Classy service, and the hotel was located in one of the most beautiful parts of San Miguel, very quiet.

Natalia at the front desk was charming and helpful. But getting a cup of coffee in the morning was problematic.

The rooms were very, very cold. It would not be difficult to add mini-splits to the rooms and provide both heating and air conditioning.

Our roomnwas confortable and nicely decorated. 1) needs fresh air venting. Windows have no screens or security to leave open. 2) needs coffee in room. Its an inexpensive option to offer. 3) could have used larger portions of gel and shampoo.

2/10 Poor

We arrived at the hotel. Our driver parked close to another car when we got out of the car. It wasn’t a nice new car that we were parked next to. We were very careful getting out to not touch the other car with the door of our driver’s car. THe minute we stepped on the property we were harrassed by a man who says we scratched his car and he wanted us to pay or he would call the police. We told him no and to get away from us. THe front desk lady let him harrass us. It appeared the man worked at the hotel. He said he would call the police but we told him we did not care because we did not scratch his car. Our driver that drove us got the crazy mans phone number and talked to him and offered to give the man his insurance information but the man said no he wanted US to pay. He assumed we were rich Americans. We were two women and had two young children with us. The hotel let this man watch our hotel room and pace around in front of it and watch us. The minute he left briefly to help another customer we ran with our two young children who were scared. We ran away and had our driver come pick us up where we were hiding. I messaged the hotel several times to get a refund for the two rooms purchased as we were on the property for less than 20 minutes. No response. Our driver told us that the hotel was trying to scam us. BEWARE of this hotel.

Good value but needs some minor fixes.

No AC during unusually hot season. Extra fans helped. Windows did not close properly in sitting area. Recommend a curtain to separate sitting area from bedroom area. Room door is not secure. Can easily bypass lock with a screwdriver or pocket knife.

If you arrive by car is almost impossible to get there without scratching your car, the entrance and exit to the location is extremly bad located, the hotel is not ada compliant and the rooms are without any manteinance, you can not sleep because the sun enters everywhere and the bells from around are going off every 15 minutes, then personnel has not intention to help you ifn you arrive 30 minutes early because they don't have clean cloths (unbelievable) to get to any room, office or restaurant you have to deal with tons of narrow stairs

2/10 Poor

The staff is shaddy. Maricela the manager (if thsts her name) needs to be fired for how she handled our stay. I reseved a room from 11/1 to 11/5 paid for via Expedia. On 11/1 all was fine and normal. On 11/2, there was no room service until 8:00 pm to which we were in bed sleeping. .on 11/3 and 11/4 we left for activities and family meetings. When we came back on 11/5 for last minute pictures on the balcony of our room, I walk in with my key and there were 2 women sleeping in our room. I asked Maricela why did she booked my room if my checkout was at noon on 11/5. She said it was because the staff saw us leave with luggage. I told her but we were coming back. That was the reason we had not checked out!!!

Disappointing experience

Hotel Casaliza experience notes: - Be prepared to scratch your car while driving into their property. It is a steep ramp and a narrow left turn into the property. - The hotel doesn’t have bellhops, so be ready to carry your luggage through three flights of stairs and narrow stone-laden passages if you are on the top floor. - The rooms are spartan, charming but rudimentary, and the cable TV quality is limited and pre-HDTV. - There is no air conditioning in the rooms, so when it is hot (most nights), one cannot leave the balcony doors open because they don’t have insect screens. They offer a portable but loud air ventilator. - Walking into the room, one will find only one bath towel, one smaller towel, and no hand towels. It takes a few trips to their front desk room for another bath towel. - There are no telephones in the rooms; therefore, all requests have to be made in person, at the front desk, but only during business hours - The biggest joke is their price-included breakfast. When asked, the front desk employee pointed to a coffee maker and a basket of Mexican bread and said: “This is the included breakfast.” - On the upside, the internet has decent bandwidth speed, and the place is clean. - The best thing is the attached (but separately owned) restaurant “Mia”; top of the line with amazing food, great drinks, and superior service.
