Inexpensive place to stay when skiing

I've stayed here a couple of times now and the cleanliness is questionable. The blankets, shams, pillows, and comforter are not washed after every guest, they smelled. Clean towels are provided and you see the difference how there are washed. Aside from this the hostel is conveniently located.

The bed was horribly uncomfortable, hence the overall low scores. You don't expect much from a hostel and this place is in line with low expectations. But, the bed being so uncomfortable is malpractice for any hostel.

Its old motel and hostel, but good for hiker. Book by expedia is expansive than hotel itself.

There are no mattresses. They’re slabs of plywood with a sleep pad on top. The most uncomfortable “bed” I slept on in years. Camping is more comfortable.

Affordable, close to the slopes, this spot is great for solo ski travel. But what set it apart was the amazing people I met while there. Definitely plan on coming back!

Was easy to get the key even after checking in very late. Comfortable premises and fair price.

Very basic stay but the affordable one in the whole city of Mammoth Lake. House keepers did a great job changing sheets an. Cleaning each dorm room.
3-night trip

8/10

Stayed here for a couple of nights while hiking in the Mammoth Lakes region. No major complaints. If your room is on the upper floor, it can be a bit of a work getting your luggage up and down if you have multiple small items. The bathroom design was a bit weird bcoz two persons may not be able to access the restrooms independently, check the pictures if they have them. Super small showers. Tbh, the hostel I stayed in at Breckenridge CO offered a lot more value for money at the same price.

This is a nice hostel. Each bunk has its own locker with combination lock. Wifi worked very well. More electrical outlets are needed for charging cellphones.
1-night trip

8/10

I’ve stayed here twice this season. A few things I would adjust. All the pillows are like an inch thick I think they should throw all of them away and get real pillows. Also they give you very thin blankets and it’s cold in the rooms. So I had to aft for a comforter and luckily they had one. As far as nice staff they deff are very nice. Also I would recommend painting the walls a new color. Gray or sage Greg, antique white something modern. The yellow walls makes this place feel very old and dated. It’s deff needs some love but the price is perfect.
2-night trip

10/10

It was a hostel, bunk beds like a college dorm, shared bathroom etc. Some are better, some are worse. Inexpensive. I was on the road camping out most nights. It was really cold that night, just needed a place to sleep. It served the purpose

This was my first hostel experience and it was good! Overall clean and the kitchen had what I needed. It was another solo trip for me and it was nice to make a few friends to ski with. My room (206), was uncomfortably cold the first night, even with the extra blanket. I asked one of the cleaning staff for a space heater (per another reviewer) and that saved me!

No.
1-night trip

8/10

No complain with reasonable price except two things. There is no stove to cook. The mattress has no cushion.
2-night trip

4/10

Thin walls with crashing doors does not mix. Telling me to move my vehicle from one empty lot to another when I wanted to ski the day I was checking out was not cool One full bathroom with the shower and toilet in one room to share between 6 people wasn't ideal If you wan tto recycle you need at least two trash receptacles. Check in was envelope with a key, rather than tour of hostel and/or orientation Could not get into promise hot tub

Have to say, after staying in hostels for decades now, this one is one of the most disgusting. It stunk. Was dirty. ...and though I usually bunk, ended up getting a private room because I wanted to sleep.... It was nasty and stunk. The sheets smelled like BM sprayed with fabreeze. The room, 100, is also right next to the SMART METER which buzzed and kept up all night, in addition to being dangerous. Did I mention it stunk?
