A delicious breakfast, afternoon snacks, incredible evening cookies (delivered to the room!), a wonderfully historic site, engaging staff, convenient to the downtown historic locations and museums, and at less than half the cost of a commercial hotels in further, less convenient and less interesting, locations. This property is a renovated 1909 building that maintains the old time feel: wood floors, grand staircase, claw-foot bathtub, creaking floors, heavy wood doors, community spaces, etc. The hotel is well-maintained and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. If you like historic buildings and enjoy staying in a hotel of yesteryear, this is your place. If you are looking for a modern day hotel, this would not be the place for you! The hotel location is excellent; walking distance from many of the area historic sites, restaurants and bars.
