Had a great stay here as usual. The Hotels.com webiste decided to generate an email telling me my booking was about to be cancelled due to incorrect payment details - a quick call to the hotel sorted this out, as there was no payment issue in the first place. Yes, the hotel is basic compared to others maybe, but it is always clean, centrally located, great, friendly and helpful staff and is a joy to visit. The beds are comfortable and the showers powerful - for those who have not travelled in Norway before - the single duvets are standard, no matter the size of the bed.

This is a bare bones hotel. Absolutely no extras except for a hair dryer. The shampoo was a combination with body wash. No hair conditioner. No bathmat. No breakfast included. But, it was immaculately clean, had comfy beds and was close to the train station and lots of tourist attractions.

The hotel was well situated to the train station, public transportation hubs, and to shopping. The only issue we had was there are multiple Comfort Hotels in the area and the address Hotels.com gave us for Xpress was to a different Comfort Hotel, luckily within walking distance. The check-in agent at the incorrect hotel had apparently dealt with this mistake a number of times and quickly directed us up the street to the correct property.

Location is fantastic. 9* The room size is small clean which is alright. Noisy external tram / train noise. Later midngt, young guys with loud music hanging around. At 3am next door room had late ngts screaming laughing. Hard to sleep.

Check-in was easy, friendly staff, lobby was nice and clean, as was the room and the shower pressure was 10/10. Only complaints is that the bed was beyond horrible. After finally managing to fall asleep, I woke up with my whole body aching, it was terrible. Only other thing is that the balconies has no privacy, they are open to the adjoining rooms meaning everyone can hear each others conversations and see each other, plus they could technically walk right into your room if you forget to lock the balcony door.

Great location, helpful staff and clean enough. But this should not be a three star hotel on hotels.com. This is very much a bargain basement hotel. One scrawny bath towel, hand towel and pillow per guest (not even a bath mat). Housekeeping is every 4 days. Signs in the elevator indicate you would have to pay more for extra towels and bedding. The bathroom has two hooks and nowhere to put your stuff, no vanity no drawers or shelves. No “chain” locks feels Less than safe. They have a few snacks and coffee bar, no restaurant, and you have to go to another hotel for a gym. When I checked in a room was available and I had to pay an extra.~20€ to access the room early. Norway is my 43rd country and I’ve never experienced a charge to get into a room early-likely part of the nickel and diming because this is more like a two star hotel.

I made this reservation for myself and some friends, two of which are a couple, and they received a "compact" room where the bed is shoehorned in one side of the room, butted up against the window and 2 walls, so not great for a somewhat older couple. I definitely didn't see "compact" when I reserved it for them. Bottom line, if you've got a problem with a bed that only has one side to get out of, especially if you're two people, this probably isn't the type of room you want.
