The location is midway to our destination which was McCarthy and Kennicott. It was a nice way to be rested on arrival in McCarthy.

8/10 Good

Beautiful property and restaurant. No in room refrigerator, one bedside table in a two queen room. 2 luggage carts for the property that were taken by the tour buses. Disappointing for the price.
Connie, 2-night trip

10/10 Excellent

We enjoyed this location!
Susan, 1-night trip

6/10 Okay

This hotel had many of the luxuries other places we stayed in Alaska did not have … having said this, it was a bit soulless, more like a slightly up market UK Premier Inn. It was my 40th birthday and the bar was shut by 9 everyone was in bed. We were the last people in the common area and felt like we should leave … I was in bed by 10, very odd
Charlotte, 1-night trip

Great service, nice hotel in a beautiful location.
joe, 1-night trip

10/10 Excellent

Beautiful property and perfect location.
Marianne, 1-night trip

6/10 Okay

This property was average, was not special. It did not present views better than you get at the National Park Visitors Center. It was a warm night the time I stayed, the ac didn't work, so opened window and used the room's box fan and ceiling fan. Staff couldn't get the printer to work. Stood by for 20 minutes until a manager arrived, apologized for my wait, and gave me my key. Restaurant foods were just okay.
Oran, 1-night trip

8/10 Good

Had to switch rooms due to a maintenance issue with the under-window ac/heater unit leaking antifreeze onto carpet. Discovered when we stepped in the brown sticky smelly wetness. Front desk changed us quickly and maintenance showed up as we were lugging out. The water is yellow. I took a bath and it obviously has some type of high mineral content. Probably why they don’t have a pool or hot tub. The hotel is in the boonies, so it isn’t totally unexpected, but geez, spring for a filtration system. Just washing your hands in the white sink shows the water’s discoloration. We took care not to drink it. Restaurant is outrageously expensive for what you get, and the $45 prime rib was so overcooked it was beyond well done… gray and dry. In typical Princess-cruise fashion, the Northern Lights show in the theater costs extra. $10 per person for a 40 min movie. In short: The surroundings are gorgeous and the lodge looks pretty, but there are serious deficiencies in property management.
