Had to switch rooms due to a maintenance issue with the under-window ac/heater unit leaking antifreeze onto carpet. Discovered when we stepped in the brown sticky smelly wetness. Front desk changed us quickly and maintenance showed up as we were lugging out.
The water is yellow. I took a bath and it obviously has some type of high mineral content. Probably why they don’t have a pool or hot tub. The hotel is in the boonies, so it isn’t totally unexpected, but geez, spring for a filtration system. Just washing your hands in the white sink shows the water’s discoloration. We took care not to drink it.
Restaurant is outrageously expensive for what you get, and the $45 prime rib was so overcooked it was beyond well done… gray and dry.
In typical Princess-cruise fashion, the Northern Lights show in the theater costs extra. $10 per person for a 40 min movie.
In short: The surroundings are gorgeous and the lodge looks pretty, but there are serious deficiencies in property management.
