Robin, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the location was fantastic, However the hotel is in need of attention, the rusting sign on the roof when you drive in is not a good start, the loss chipping from the drive are spilling out onto the road and looks a mess, the room was just about clean enough but the windows in the bathroom were both painted shut and the silicon

Our stay was just for one night but was excellent All round, from the Sea view from the bedroom, excellent food and friendly staff very helpful
Romeo, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Onsite parking which is good and a great welcome by staff. The bedroom was compact but a superb view of the Bass Rock and sea. However the decor was abmismal. On one side of the very dark coloured wall there were loads of scuffs right along the wall. Also the curtains were crushed and mis-matched. It was like someone had just taken them out of their wrapping and hung them straight up.

This hotel is old fashioned in a beautiful building on the edge of the coastline. Get a sea view it is worth it. My solo room was a good size, the breakfast was in a lovely sea view dining room, the staff were extremely lovely and helpful. The bathroom needs updating but was spotlessly clean.

Absolute Gem!!! The view from my room was incredible! The staff were so nice. I got there early and they kept my bags safe for me and when I came back to check in, they were waiting for me in my room! The restaurant on site was top quality with delicious options for dinner and breakfast! Will absolutely be coming back here!

Staff are very friendly, and nothing seemed to be a problem! Very accommodating. The food they have to offer was lovely, and reasonably priced! And the room was comfortable.

4/10 Fair

The hotel is looking a bit tired and our room was a bit shabby. What really let us down was that we got a family room to sleep 3, but the 3rd bed was terrible. It was not a mattress or fold out bed but what looked like the back bit of a sofa with a sheet on it! It was very hard and uncomfortable and not full length. It was so uncomfortable that our kid had to sleep in the bed and one of us on the floor but the bed thing was not long enough. Basically, it was very uncomfortable and meant one of us adults got little sleep. When we checked out, we gave this feedback. The man on reception apologized and said ‘we know they are not great / comfy and are on our list to replace’. So if they know, why sell that as a family room?? Why knowingly provide an uncomfortable 3rd bed? A good nights sleep is essential for a traveling family but we left tired and not feeling like we got our monies worth.

The sea views are to die for. Falling asleep listening to the sea. Room a bit dated. Lack of bedside table and plug sockets a downside. But great shower and bath.and nice complimentary toiletries. Lovely fresh cooked breakfast to order and evening meals delicious too.
