We had a great stay. The rooms were amazing. The mattress was wonderful! I slept all night without waking up. The only bad thing is the parking. Its street, which was almost impossible. Or the valet service at $45 a day.

Arrived at this hotel around 7:30 PM to a ghost town. Valet was not around. There was a sign there saying the valet was away. So I parked my car in a line of cars. Went to the front desk and there was also a sign there saying they had stepped away. Me and another guest who came after I did waited 10 minutes for an employee to return to check us in. I could understand if I checked in around 3 AM. But 7:30 PM and the staff is missing??? I went back FIVE different times to the valet before FINALLY finding him. For around $250 a night I expect better than this!

proximity to Penn Presbyterian and Scheie Eye

We were staying at this Homewood Suites for surgery at Penn Presbyterian. The staff is attentive and helpful. The complimentary breakfast buffet is generous. We found it easy to go back and forth to the hospital even in bad weather as the entrance and drop off to the hotel is completely covered and there is a small garden in front of the hotel. This is an excellent option for travellors who want to stay at the upper end of University City. The neighborhood is safe as long as one stays on the blocks which are part of the Medical Center campus.

The room service crew does not do a good job. There was no shampoo (I realized it after I jumped into shower) to begin with. Even after mentioning it to the front desk, during the alternate day service, they not only forgot to fill the shampoo bottle but also kept no towels for us 😆 We have stayed in a number of Homewood suites in different parts of the country; their service is usually is quite exceptional. The location is excellent though if you are visiting u Penn.
