Susan, 1-night trip

10/10 Excellent

We had a lovely stay the room was big the bed was huge-lovely. Staff changed our room to a ground floor which was appreciated. The decor is old and tired and but that didn’t bother us
Eileen Gay, 1-night trip

8/10 Good

Bit out of the way although the sat nav took us right to the door. Nice quiet area teeming with wildlife right next to Dryburgh Abbey and the river Tweed
Dave, 2-night trip

8/10 Good

The property is unique and comfortable as an old building in the Borders. The staff are excellent and very responsive to your needs. The building is obviously old and the rooms dated, however that should be expected in a building of this age.
Ryan, 3-night trip

8/10 Good

The estate at the hotel is beautiful near.the river. The room we were given to begin with was.not suitable very stuffy and small. We couldnt open the windows. We requested another room and this was dealt with very quickly by the receptionist. and we ended up with a lovely airy,, spacious room with views of the river (and the windows opened). We enjoyed our stay.
Aileen, 2-night trip

Enjoyed the stay. Very tranquil surroundings, quite remote but only a short drive to several places of interest. Liked walking down to the river before breakfast
Bruce, 2-night trip

The beautiful surroundings

Overall the stay was good. Room was a bit cold early evening, but our overnight sleep was too hot as the quilt tended to cocoon our body. The surrounding areas were excellent for walks and not to mention the food as it was beautiful
STUART, 1-night trip

10/10 Excellent

We have been here several times over the years and have had fabulous stays. This time was no exception; just fabulous.
Ian, 2-night trip

6/10 Okay

room was not ready for check in - waited one hour before it was cleaned. staff seemed new for food service- need training
Andrew, 1-night trip

8/10 Good

Lovely old style building for exploring the area

Lovely grand old building. Rooms were decent. Shower is rubbish could do with investing in more modern showers. Breakfast was good and the bar was well stocked. Good place to stay to visit the borders
Mr Paul, 1-night trip

8/10 Good

Lovely property with great views and walks around garden and down to river. Very beautiful area. Room lovely, comfortable and clean and very well furnished. Staff all very helpful and kind. Only issue was evening meal where we found portions far too large so lots of food was wasted. Also felt menu was too large for chefs to cope with as hotel was very busy. Our meals were pasta which was tasty but overcooked and risotto, also very tasty but very overcooked. Suggestion would be to reduce the large menu and allow chefs time to focus because they clearly are good cooks. Breakfast was lovely.
John, 1-night trip

8/10 Good

Had a lovely stay. 1 comment would be that the bathroom in the room we were in is needing updated.
Julie, 1-night trip

10/10 Excellent

Lovely Hotel and extremely dog friendly
Natalie, 2-night trip

Home from home

A beautiful, comfortable clean space with excellent, helpful friendly staff. The hotel is set in beautiful countryside where the river Tweed runs at the bottom of the garden and the ruins of Dryburgh Abbey next door. There are walks to suit all straight from the front door.
Carole, 3-night trip

6/10 Okay

Great location but!!

We have stayed here several times and enjoyed the location. We feel that the rooms are ready for updating - the staff on duty were all young men who looked as if they had worked all weekend without a break ! It wasn’t as welcoming as it had been in the past. We were also disappointed with our evening meal.
Paul, 1-night trip
