Not a bad place

The hotel was quite ok for the price point. The staff in the restaurant in the evening were really nice and accommodating. But I have to say I am nearly 60 years old and have stayed in many hotels worldwide over the years but this was the worst breakfast I've ever had anywhere. I don't like to leave bad reviews but just being honest on this point.

The staff is very friendly , the bathroom is very spacious and everything is cleaned to a good quality. The restaurant in the hotel is very good , offering lovely dinner with vegetarian options. Breakfast was included in the price and was also of good quality, the hot chocolate was amazing and the fresh orange juice. There was a variety of options for vegetarians to choose from. They should put some chocolate in the room fridges and allow free refilling of water bottles.

The hotel is generally OK, but definitely overpriced and in need of some renovation. Surrounding area is seedy, there are quite a few homeless people sleeping in the tents. Underground parking (elevator) is available for a fee. A subway station is very close.

The air conditioner was never working in our room. We had to call every time to get them to make it work. It was like an oven in our room. even if the window is open, the 75F outside couldn't help the 77F inside our room. Checkin was very friendly and accommodating. Beds were comfortable. Convenience to nearby places to visit is not.

Property is not too far from the airport, but far from any of the activities we wanted to do. We arrived late, and there aren't any restaurants around the hotel. I was not impressed with Lisbon based upon the location of this hotel. Once we explored more, there are other areas that I would have chosen that have more activities, more restaurants, and that are nicer.

Our cash was stolen at Czar hotel in Lisbon

On May 25 we left our bags at the hotel because the room wasn’t ready, they have an area we’re they store your bagas and give you a ticket to claim it. After a long day of tourism we came back to the hotel, claimed our bags and went to the room to find out that all our cash was STOLEN for m backpack. We didn’t put a lock to the backpack because was suppose to be in a “secure” area but that’s not true. NEVER leave your bags at the Czar hotel without a lock! In addition breakfast is not included, is $12 per person and is not good, go outside and eat something good.
