6/10 Good

The staff were great. My room didn't have any hot water for the first day and they worked hard to get it fixed. I was woken up by people being rowdy in the middle of the night the first night which wasn't the best. The breakfast

Cheap room close to Silverstone circuit!

Stayed here to be close to Silverstone circuit for Moto GP. Did the job, 15 minutes to the circuit. Room clean, bed comfy, hot shower. Communal areas really need cleaning up and decorating. Not a good impression! Glad room was better!

8/10 Very good

I received a really friendly welcome from Penny and had a very nice, clean, spacious room. This is an old building so clearly isn’t shiny and new, but was perfectly adequate for my requirements. It was lovely having the bar downstairs, and the offer of pub food if needed. Would definitely stay there again. Excellent value and lovely, friendly staff. Lots of free parking in their car park.
Emma, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

The positives: fairly cheap. Adequate parking. Wasn’t disturbed by pub customers as pub not busy and annexe room separate from pub. Staff pleasant. Room clean and bed comfortable. Negatives: room very tired and dark. Poor soundproofing between adjacent rooms. Bathroom fittings old and slight drain odour. Didn’t eat at pub but didn’t see any viable alternatives nearby for dining. Ok for cheap overnight stopover.

Overnight stay

Overnight stay that we just fancied doing. The hotel is near the antiques centres so is ideal. Friendly staff and nothing was too much trouble.

It is an old period pub with accomodation and dining facilities. Great place to stop off when travelling from Liverpool to London or further afield.

A good stay

A good traditional old inn, generous room size, good facilities, clean, great cooked breakfast, wifi that worked at a reasonable speed and 63 /75kW EV charging. So much better than staying in the normal premier/days/lodge shoe boxes. Shower did have four temperatures; too hot and too cold.

Lovely room, slept well.

Lovely room outside, (no stairs). Very very comfortable and big bed. Powerful shower. Ordered food and the lady behind the bar carried the tray to my room. Spacious room. A little noise from next door, but the bed was so comfy, I went straight to sleep.

I like the architecture and design of the property, like the area as I have lots of memories living near by for 4 years, love local diner and antic shops, to have chinese food next door was also convenient, appreciate to have a quiet room. I was only regret not to have a brush for the toilet in the bathroom.. The staf was very kind and friendly.. so thank you all
Aleksandra, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

I had a rather abrupt arrival from a member of staff who I believe was the chef but not entirely clear. He was quite irritable and rude and seemed to be trying to deliberately be antagonistic. This was quite a sour start to the stay. In general the room was well cleaned and adequate, and the stay was made much better by a member of staff who was involved in manning the desk and breakfast in the morning. I didn't get her name but she had a much better manor in working with people.
William, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

Check in was quick and the service during evening meal was very pleasant and quick. The rooms are basic but very clean. Breakfast is not setup for a business person. The member of staff this morning was running late, no coffee or cereals ready to eat all food and drink needed to be ordered. I left without breakfast due to the waiting.

4/10 Fair

Disappointing, unwelcoming, kitchen closed early

Picked this place as a good location for attending the British GP at Silverstone and somewhere that offered food until 9pm as we knew we would have to contend with traffic which might delay us. Booked a table and had confirmation for 8pm. On our way we got a text telling us they were closing the kitchen early at 7pm, no apology was offered and as we were stuck in traffic couldn’t get there in time. On arrival there were no staff around and eventually found someone who got someone else. She looked like she really didn’t want to be there and we got no greeting, no smile and felt like we were an inconvenience to them. The room had a very large bed (2 singles pushed together) which was comfy, but a bit big for the room so left very little space down one side. The level of cleanliness should have been better, stained sink/shower, water marks on the shower door, thick cobwebs on the beams, marks on the wall that looked like someone had spilt tea on it and black bits in the bottom of the kettle. There was an unpleasant odour from the shower drain. Went to open the window and pop it on the latch to keep it in position and the latch wasn’t attached.

Worth what I paid

Booked this as a change from the blandness of chain hotels and it was fairly cheap …..but…. The old adage you get what you pay for. It was fine the bed was comfortable, room not that warm but there was a heater I could have plugged in. The downside was the four steep steps down to the bathroom, which was very big. The water was not really hot enough for a lingering soak which was a pity as it was a much bigger bath than I have at home. The windowsill needs some tlc as it looks quite awful when you are in the bath. Staff friendly and willing. Breakfast was fine though could have been a bit hotter.

It was lovely and quite at night good location for the M1. Nice place to stay but shame it felt like we were the only people staying there
Matt, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

The room was GREAT and good value for money, clean, and parking also. What wasn’t great was the attached pub. 1 staff member, no customers, went down to eat dinner to be told kitchen closed already (6pm). Apparently pub is going through change of ownership? Hotel great, pub not so great.
