We stayed in room 2 which was above the bar we had a lot of noise until it closed. Handy for the train station. Breakfast was a disappointment, it had been overcooked, bacon was hard egg yolk was hard and toast was like eating crackers

Honestly would not recommend this hotel to anyone! The bar was open until 12.30, very loud music playing with people outside drinking in the courtyard which meant that we couldn’t get to sleep until much later than planned. As it is an old building it was lovely but only single glazed which didn’t help with dealing with the noise. People need to warned before booking here.
Check in was a little hectic and took quite a long time as two members of staff weren’t able to take payment and so we had to wait for them to find the manager finally managed it. Very polite staff but they needed more support

My only worry was the noise from outside the room from the kitchen extractor fan, or something. However it was turned off from 21:45 to 07:00ish, if I remember correctly. So no complaints.

Unfortunately I will not be booking again for two reasons, the room was dirty with cobwebs and dust in both the main room and bathroom. The internet wasn’t usable because of poor signal, I travel for business and couldn’t log-on too any devises. Your saving grace is the two ladies that checked me in and served me for breakfast were great.

The positive, the rooms were recently redone and clean. We however didn’t get much sleep as the noise was pretty loud - can still be heard over a loud TV to muffle out drinkers at the bar and patio which served until at least 12pm if not 1am.
The place looks much better in photos than setting does in real life. Food v disappointing.

The staff in the bar and the condition of the bar are outstanding compared to the grotty and awful conditions of the so called hotel. Never would consider or recommend this outdated mess

cheap and not so cheerful. In desperate need of a tidy up - room was cold as the radiator in the bedroom didn't work - had to leave the bathroom door open to get some heat from that one. Chef was too busy and declared the kitchen closed on my arrival - earlier than advertised. I did feel a bit sorry for him as he was the only senior person working and seemed to be doing most of the work himself.

Great pub, great looking (and smelling) food.
(Ate elsewhere with clients) Basic room with a great hairdryer, great value for money. Excellent location for Liecester/M1/M69 and West Midlands
