Good location only 15 mins walk from town centre. Staff were friendly. Pool was extra cost if you did not book directly with hotel but staff offered me free access of I signed up to a loyalty scheme. We only stayed for one night but it was really nice from the moment we walked in, With a helpful receptionist The room was a great size and bathroom was as well, very clean and well looked after. The breakfast was nice with good selection of hot and cold items. We used the swimming pool and the water was nice and warm and a nice padded floor in the pool and good shallow end for little ones, and also towels were provided by the reception of the pool area.

Although not on the sea front or with sea views, it is well located and both are only a short walk away, (as are Greenhill Gardens) or there is a bus stop almost outside if required. The on-site parking a real bonus. Although we did not use the leisure facilities, they seemed popular, and inviting. The breakfasts and Sunday Carvery we had provided a good selection of well prepared food. Both are primarily self service, but we understand that evening meals at other times are in a quieter part of the restaurant area with full waitress service. Our executive room was spacious, recently refurbished and with a large comfortable bed, with an excellent walk in shower, which was something we had requested. Four of us with limited luggage fitted snuggly into the lift. The little garden through the bar was a little oasis of calm. The hotel was quiet during our visit, but if there was a function (wedding/conference) this may have an impact, so worth checking if quietness is important to you.

Previous experience of Best Western was good so we opted for this hotel. It was disappointing. Our room was ok, but very little servicing - beds badly made and pillows very hard. We had to request restocking during our 4 days there. Bathroom was dusty and cold when we arrived. Faulty radiator which we reported the evening of our arrival. When fixed it was dangerously hot day and night and sounded like a boiling kettle! The hotel looks a little run down in many areas. The food was excellent and all the restaurant/bar staff helpful.
