We had a very enjoyable stay at the Dakota. We still in a classic room with a river view. Bed was very comfortable. The reception staff were very friendly & attentive. The porters were very friendly & helpful. Had some beautiful cocktails , would definitely stay again

Great night's sleep, could improve sustainability

Amazing stay, had one of the best night's sleeps in a long time. A shame that with it being a new hotel, they didn't go forward with the times on sustainability, and still use miniature toileteries, instead of large refillable ones and plastic water bottles, instead of dispensers with filtered water, which seems to be a normal practice these days.

Great hotel but extra fees is just greed.

Loved the hotel, arrived at 2pm to be told room wasnt ready but if we wanted early check in we could pay £45, it seems like a sales pitch as we already paid £250 for 1 night without breakfast. Also told to park in St Annes carpark at £4 per night but when we got there it was £15 if you didnt park in their designated bays but they didnt tell us prior to check in where they were.

Excellent Stay at Dakota, Newcastle

We stayed at Dakota Newcastle while visiting the city for a show at The Glasshouse – a gift for my parents and a treat for us as well. This hotel easily ranks among the best we’ve experienced. Though relatively new, its stylish, modern design—with a moody yet welcoming atmosphere—exudes sophistication and comfort. We booked standard rooms (207 and 208), which were impeccably clean, comfortable, and furnished to a very high standard. Each room featured a large TV cleverly disguised as a mirror, offering a wide range of channels and streaming options. The bathrooms were equally impressive, complete with a luxurious rainfall shower and Molton Brown toiletries—a lovely touch. Even the addition of a night light in the bathroom was a great touch. Breakfast was excellent, with a generous selection of cereals, pastries, and cooked options to choose from. The service throughout our stay was outstanding, especially at check-in and during breakfast. The concierge, in particular, was a standout—and a real credit to the hotel. The professionalism and attention to detail from all staff were truly first-class and we will definitely visit again.

New Hotel well worth a try.

This hotel only opened 4 days ago so everything is very new. Concierge and reception were excellent. Parking is immediately behind the hotel and very easy. The bar area is very contemporary although personally I found it a little too dark but others will like it I’m sure. Bar staff were very attentive and the glass of water being topped up at our table regularly was a nice touch. The only issue we had in our stay was that my room TV did not work - not a major issue as I usual put it on for a bit of sound in the morning only. The other room we had it worked fine. Also the staff could not find a late night room service food menu. In the end we ordered a deliveroo - not ideal. However, do not let these couple of things put you off they are just teething problems that will be sorted very quickly I’m sure. This is an excellent hotel and well worth a visit. Try to request a river view room if you can.
