The room and the bed was amazing. No elevator or breakfast in the morning for the price was a little sad.

Absolutely wonderful. Justice and Omia (sp?) were the most gracious, delightful and accommodating hostesses handling every aspect of our stay… food, wine tasting, check in etc. Highly recommend this establishment!!!!

Beautiful adobe style property. Very unique for the area. Spacious, spotless and well appointed. Miles above your average chain hotel. We had some fantastic wines and charcuterie. Thank you Michelle, Bertie and chef for making our stay memorable! Would love to come back and explore the area.

Desert Wind a must stay in Prosser

Excellent stay. Highly recommend. Room was better than expected. Plus, we received a complimentary bottle of wine and a generous pour in the tasting room.

Rooms and wine tasting room are excellent. Outdoor areas need some clean up and maintenance especially the back patio. Noone there after 5, would be nice to get a snack or drink .

Beautiful and spacious room was comfortable and private. The bathroom shower was amazing! We arrived after hours but, because we read the email they sent in advance, we knew were to find the exterior entrance and had our code. Pro Tip: READ YOUR EMAIL IN ADVANCE! Would definitely recommend if you are able to navigate stairs. If not, find somewhere else.

Truly a find! Large, comfortable suite, private deck overlooking courtyard and river. Winery with food options downstairs, close to everything…can’t wait to stay again in warmer weather!

Such a gem!

Absolutely loved it here. We are already planning our next trip back. The complimentary glass of wine upon arrival was such a nice touch, as was the free bottle in the room. The staff was MORE than helpful. We ate at the restaurant multiple times and loved it. Perfect place to stay for a couples getaway!

This was an absolute gorgeous room and wonderful amenities. I gave it a 4 for facilities because it is very difficult to tote your luggage up the outdoor staircase. It was raining the night we arrived and the only way to access your room is via an outdoor staircase. Which was not fun! However, I would definitely stay here again and the stairs didn’t really deter me too much. Berta was so kind and was really the only staff member we interacted with.

2/10 Poor

WARNING: Misleading Advertising and Poor Experience at Desert Wind Inn We booked the Desert Wind Inn expecting the peaceful, wine-filled escape advertised on their website—wine tastings, evening dinners, and relaxing by the fire with a glass of merlot. Instead, we were met with cold service, subpar wine, and an oddly restrictive environment that felt more like a budget motel than a luxury retreat. We arrived on May 29, 2025, around 12:30 PM, and were greeted with a dismissive “What do you need?”—no welcome, no warmth. When we mentioned we hadn’t received the promised check-in email, we were eventually handed a card with a code and no explanation. We later realized the room was ready, but no one told us. We tried to enjoy a wine tasting while we waited, but the wine was mediocre, and the service was borderline hostile. The only staff member present made no effort to engage or offer guidance. We waited 45 minutes for a salad and bread, despite being the only guests. At 3 PM, we found our room ourselves. Posted on the door was a sign that the entire property shuts down after 5 PM (7 PM on weekends). No bar, no patio, no restaurant, no access to anything—and an alarm if you try to leave. We felt trapped. The room itself was loud (next to a highway), stuffy, and smelled of exhaust. No breakfast, no charm, no hospitality. We paid a premium for what felt like a bad roadside inn. Do not stay here if you’re looking for a wine country experience. 1/10 – would never return.
“After Hours Details” (limitations) of your stay and the seclusion imposed by the property from the other amenities you handsomely pay for.
The announcement regarding the hours of operation and the need to use the side door or else the alarms ring.
The back door and stair you MUST use if you go out past 5 PM (or 7 PM Fri-Sat). Not clearly marked as the so-called “afterhours access door”.
This is the highway and the sound of the cars that we hear from our room’s balcony with a supposedly valley view

6/10 Good

It’s pretty landscaping and the building and room are very clean, large and have nice decor. But I am the only person on the entire property. 0 staff, 0 other guest! It feels like the Shining. I should have been made aware of what this was gonna be like before I reserved it. Also, the directions say to go to the south side of the building for the side entrance by going around to the right of the front door. That is absolutely the North side of the building and there was no one around to help me. For miles!

10/10 Exceptional

We had a wonderful stay! The staff were warm and welcoming, and the tasting room offered delicious wines and excellent food. Our suite (the Jean Baptiste) was beautifully appointed and very comfortable. The only downsides were the traffic noise from the nearby highway when the balcony door was open, some deferred building and landscape maintenance, and the after-hours entrance, which felt a bit like sneaking in through a fire escape. Still, these were minor issues in an otherwise fantastic experience. Highly recommended!
