It's a heritage property. What we didn't like is the room light is too dim and not much room to put the kettle and glasses. Anything else are okay . Thanks

Very comfortable and convenient

Thanks for a great stay. Had one of the best sleeps during my travels - the bed was very comfortable. And the complementary port was a nice touch - we do enjoy a nice port.

The property is in a busy street but we found it to be quiet. It is sort of an “in between” neighbourhood with so many dining and entertainment venues two blocks north and south plus a 15 minute walk to the waterfront. Great location, on street parking.

It is lovely and unique in a colonial style and beautiful furnishing. One feels very welcome.

This place is a treasure! The rooms retain their olde world charm but modern conveniences are tastefully incorporated. The owners live on-site and they are wonderful hosts - attentive and friendly and very informative. We would absolutely recommend staying at The Lodge on Elizabeth.

This historic building (nearly 200 years old) is a quaint property in a vibrant part of Hobart. Rooms are in good condition, especially for such an old building that has preserved most of its historic character. The owner, Jeff, is friendly, extremely helpful, and always available. He knows the neighborhood and the city and is very willing to share dining suggestions, hints for getting around the city, and sightseeing ideas. This is a terrific place to stay.

Excellent location, big rooms. Street parking slight problem. Rooms can get hot on a warm day.

A home away from home

A very welcoming reception, beautifully restored and furnished historic homestead on National Trust Register, stately reception area and well stocked lounge. What a treat. The room was clean, fresh, bright and spacious with all bathroom and tea/coffee making facilities needed. Internal courtyard garden was welcome relief from city life. Thank you Jeff for your hospitality.

8/10 Very good

The Lodge is an iconic historical house in Hobart that has delightful rooms that are reminiscent of Victorian charm and wealth. The room we had was really charming with a 4 poster bed and a lovely couch. The proprietor was really helpful with getting us settled and had "pre-heated" our room which was really nice on the cold winter day we arrived. The location was fantastic for local eateries and still only a short walk/drive to get to the harbour front district. Highly enjoyable.

Such a kind host... Jeff

Jeff was so helpful but felt it was overpriced. However, it was just days before Wooden Boat Race and Regatta and I did book last minute. Would stay again...but not at the price I paid.

This guest house is simply stunning. Jeff the owner is so nice and helpful, he can recommend the best places to eat, all within a block either side of the accommodation including micro breweries and fantastic cafés. We stayed in the King Suite, absolutely beautiful and worth every penny. Really clean and spacious. My favourite thing was the dark grey face washer embroidered Makeup Remoal - I hate trying to get the standard issue white face washers clean after taking off my makeup - what a thoughtful touch. Complimentary port in the sitting room with books etc. and beautifully comfortable lounges and chairs is an added touch of class, the small little garden in the centre of the house is so cute. My husband and I highly recommend the Lodge on Elizabeth to anyone staying in Hobart!
