Squeaky clean, uncomplicated, and not at all fancy describes this sweet little motel. The owners are equally sweet and friendly. It was perfect for a quick overnight stop. And you cannot and will not be able to beat the price.

Stayed for just the one night due to overflow at the in-laws' place. It was a nice stay, although I did find the room's heater to be a bit on the loud side and I was awakened a couple of times during the night when it kicked in. Was a little pricier than I remember from previous stays, but Meaford has few options and I didn't feel like driving to Owen Sound or Collingwood.

Convenient location in center of Meaford. Friendly staff, the only one we met. Price was very good for this time of year. However, no service during stay, beds are not made. Room was renovated, clean, but no closet or dresser, hooks and a rack on the wall. AC very quiet and good, bathroom clean, few towels and very small difficult to handle soap.

time for some updates!

We have been coming up in the fall for the scarecrows, fall colors, great restaurants and the location is great for going to Collingwood and Owen Sound. We have been staying there since the renovations...but it needs some updates. no ports for electronics...only wall outlets if you can find any, we bring an extension cord! The mattress in room six by the window makes an awful noise where you sit on the edge, where you get in and out of the bed...wakes you up when the other person gets up in the night if you get any sleep! I needed Tylenol for an achy body from the other mattress! Time for new mattresses!!!!!

Great location, but could use some improvements

My friend and I stayed two nights at the Meaford Inn over a weekend. There is not a reception desk or lobby, so the owner/manager met us in our room to check us in (he saw us arrive). Our room was clean, however the undersides of the bedspreads were not very clean. They looked dirty, but it was unclear whether they were just stained or if they were actually dirty. The blanket and sheets were clean. The beds were comfortable, but the pillows were pretty flimsy. The towels were very thin and scratchy and we only got 2 bath towels and 2 washcloths. There were no hand towels. The location is great! Right in downtown Meaford, so we didn't have to drive to get to restaurants. My advice to the management would be to get new bedspreads and some better pillows and towels. I would have rated this inn much higher with those improvements.
