Lots of charm!

Charming historic hotel. My family stayed here for one night as we were travelling through the area. The staff were very friendly. The breakfast was great. The only complaint I’d have is that we could hear the traffic from the nearby road during the night.

Overall a great stay for our family of 4 in the family room. Only negative was this room directly butts up to parking lot. So it can be noisy with people walking by if you have windows open. Parking at property is a hot mess! Breakfast in morning was wonderful and facilities were beautiful.

Stay elsewhere

Come for the breakfast, stay somewhere else. This hotel should have closed in the 1950s. Ridiculous access to incredibly mediocre room. Also dangerous walkways withinn the building. Literally had to walk up 2 flights of stairs then down two flights stairs to access room. Had to walk sideways around bed and walk sideways out to porch. The shower was a Rube Goldberg invention since bathroom doesn't have room for a real shower. Kudos to the inventor of this shower. Was jealous of campers across the fjord. On a positive note, the breakfast was great.

A perfect place to enjoy a day on the Sognal Fjord

Such an amazing and helpful staff with many extra ammenties to ensure complete enjoyment of the fjord and surrounding area with row boats and bicycles. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and well appointed. We got the bonus of seeing many orcas feeding on fjord during breakfast.

Very nice and classy hotel with a history (est 1912) - super clean, great view from the window (pool and fiord), very friendly staff. You can use hotel row boats and/or bikes, jump into fiord from hotel private dock, swim in heated pool. Walkable distance to couple of restaurants and shops. Breakfast was delicious. This hotel stay was a highlight of our trip - I highly recommend it

Very sweet girl efficiently checked us in. Our room had a sliding door and faced the fjord. The view from there was AMAZING! They also have a very nice (and large) lawn area with tables and chairs. The weather was nice, so we sat outside with a drink from their bar and just soaked up the view of the fjord and the mountains. Good breakfast buffet, also. This is the only place you should stay in Sogndal.
