We had high hopes for our stay at El Cielo by Villa Alejandro, but unfortunately, our experience was marred by poor communication and ongoing construction.
We tried to contact the hotel several times before our arrival to let them know we’d be a day late, but despite multiple calls and messages through the booking app, we never received a response. It wasn’t until we arrived at the hotel and spoke with a housekeeper that we finally got in touch with someone. This lack of communication was frustrating and caused unnecessary stress.
Additionally, there was no mention at the time of booking that the hotel was under construction. We were woken up every morning at 7 AM to loud hammering and drilling, which continued until 5 PM. This made it impossible to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of Boquete.
While the room was decent and the location is great, the constant noise and lack of communication were major drawbacks. I understand renovations are necessary, but guests should be informed in advance. If I had known about the construction, I would have chosen a different place.
Hopefully, the hotel will address these issues for future guests, but we likely won’t be returning unless improvements are made.
