Comfortable stay

Comfortable and clean accommodation. Restaurant excellent and the staff wonderful. We have bought a house nearby and will use the restaurant again. Very accommodating of my vegan preferences, which, while it’s improving in Spain, it’s rare to find such helpful and knowledgeable staff. Nothing was too much trouble.

What a wonderful hotel!

Wonderful staff, all very friendly and helpful. Quick service and very polite. The room was very clean and warm. Plenty of space for twin beds and my niece and I to move around. Nothing was too much trouble, from the extra towels to wash m6 very long hair, to the extra hour we were abke to stay after check out. Breakfast was great, lots of choice in the buffet and a very reasonable price . Again the staff were brilliant! Really nice and friendly. I did not ask for vegetarian sausages, with hindsight I should have but I had plenty of choice so it really was not necessary. Both check in and check out were perfect, we were made to feel very welcome and a cheery goodbye when we left. Very highly recommended and we will definitely return.

Nice hotel

Lovely hotel, staff are great, particularly in the restaurant. They catered for me with vegan options that were thoughtful and very well executed. Plenty of parking in covered bays. Lots of little restaurants nearby. Area is quiet and safe, close to lakes and safe walks. Beds very comfortable, spotlessly clean. Dropped a star for noisy aircon, mirror being perished around the edges and plastic wrapping on soap and in bin liners. There’s no body or hand lotion, no conditioner, only shampoo and shower gel. Also, I read in some reviews that the rooms have kettles, there was no kettle in our room, only two small bottles of water.

This hotel is feeling rather tired. They have renewed furniture in the bar area but the rooms need attention. We paid extra for a deluxe suite as we had stayed in a junior suite before and wanted something more comfortable but were disappointed. The furniture in the lounge area was drab and uninspired. The weather was cool and rainy so we tried to turn the air conditioning to a heat setting…only to find that there is no heating in the hotel! At one point we were sitting in the bar area wearing jackets! The staff were friendly and worked hard. Breakfast was ok but the bread was stale and curling at the edges-no excuse as Spanish bread is usually delicious. The hotel looks good from the outside with a pleasant bar area and a lovely pool but it’s time to refresh the rooms. This was our third but our last visit.

The hotel Laguna is a pleasant hotel with helpful staff. It’s clean, it’s quiet and our room, a junior suit was fine, albeit overlooking the road/car park (room 107) but not everyone can have a view. We decided on half board, breakfast and evening meal, however, there is the option of lunch instead of the evening meal. We found the breakfast was reasonable, various choices of continental or cooked food, however the bacon was usually cold! A good selection of fruit and cereal was on offer and so all on all not bad. The evening meals were disappointing, on the first night I had pork knuckle my wife had fish (soul) the soul was awful, the tail end of the fish and poorly cooked. My pork knuckle wasn’t bad. The second night we both chose the Iberian pork, it was chewy and inedible. The third night we both chose the pork cheek, an awful cut of fatty meat which we couldn’t eat. In fairness when asked by the waiter how the food was we gave him an honest answer and we were offered another meal, which we declined, we took a trip to Burger King. The starters and deserts were ok, the hotel does offer A La Cart but we didn’t try that and so couldn’t comment. All in all the hotel is lovely, the staff are great and the place is spotless. They need to focus on their ingredients for the half board option as they are poor, but I’m sure that the chef is great but you can’t make a silk purse out of a sows ear. I would recommend this hotel for a stay but I would opt for bed and breakfast only.
