We stayed here for one night for our 15th wedding anniversary. We were given the deluxe suite at the top. It had the most incredible views. Very spacious, the most comfortable bed. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Fabulous cooked breakfast in the morning. Quirky little find . Loved it .
Our room at the top with the two windows

Great experience and a place not easily forgotten

Lovely room, loved the artwork about the place, service was excellent, breakfast was amazing, and the outside bar area was very nice. The only issues to flag was that we ran out of breakfast tea and this wasn't restocked in our room and only having one bog roll at a time seemed a bit tight
Edward, 3-night trip

6/10 Good

The hotel is SO run down! Smells like an old people’s home, so dark and dingy. However staff were lovely

Great hotel in a central location

This is a great hotel right in the historic center close to shops and very good restaurants. The room was large and clean and comfortable. The staff was helpful. The breakfast was solid. We had some difficulty with the parking app and had to park on the street. Maybe because we have a US phone number the app wouldn’t load. It would be a lot easier if there was another parking system. But other than that, this is a great place to stay.

Lovely hotel right in an enviable position in the historic town. Parking is available for guests. Good breakfast. Excellent choice of dining options around the hotel. Opportunity to have refreshments on terrace outside hotel. Very friendly service.

Disappointing

The bedroom we stayed in was large but very tired. Net curtains were grey and outside terrace had food lying about on the floor.
Margaret, 2-night trip

Great place to stay if you are visiting Rye

Great location and friendly staff, also tried their sister restaurant Gorge Grill. The food is yummy and you get 10% off if you are staying at the Lokout. :)
Wei-Hung, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Hotel seems to very much rely on location. Rooms very basic. Having to go into reception to then be directed to the car park round the block is an awful process. No water available at the bar (unless you want sparkling), having to book a time for breakfast annoyed me, I just want to wake up with no alarms etc, we then missed it. Rooms are insanely warm. No fridge in room also is annoying. Shower had mould everywhere. Not one single person asked about our stay during or after. Just a bang avergage experience all round.
Jamie, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Good location, friendly staff and I liked the character but decor was tired looking
Julie, 1-night trip

Wrong first impressions

We were apprehensive on registration and climbing some rather steep stairs to the 3rd level, over worn carpets, beside cracked walls to arrive at a wonderful, spotless and comfortable room with a perfect bathroom, huge balcony with views over the marshes. Excellent breakfst to order - the only disappointment was "kippers" was just one - but then I am greddy!
Nicholas, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Excellent stay. Family friendly. Good breakfast.
Delyan, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Lovely hotel and room was great. Great location too. Lovely breakfast too. Such a shame about the common staircase area as desperately needs updating and carpet very worn. Room was lovely and spacious but shower was left as old one and not up to room standard
