Lovely central square hotel

Lovey grand hotel that has been nicely refitted in the central square. The outside terrace is great for drinks in the sun and the location is perfect to walk everywhere in Calmar.

Relaxing stay in Calmar hotel.

We had a very spacious comfortable room. The bath robes were quite nice as were the towels and the sheets. The bathroom was remodeled and it was very spacious. Could’ve used more shelves for toiletries, but that is often in the case in older European hotels. The breakfast buffet in the morning was very good.

Fawlty Towers

Ett centralt beläget hotell i Kalmar med anor från sekelskiftet 18/19. Tyvärr har nog inte rummet städats sedan 1910. Och när rumsdörren öppnades kom en stank av fuktiga textilier. En frän stank från hallen kunde inte försvinna trots att vi hade korsdrag i rummet. Sprayade en hel flaska parfym, för att sedan köpa ett doftljus som fick vara tänt under vistelsen. Under sängen låg gammalt godis från tidigare gäster och när man drog med handen på väggen så var handflatan full med damm. Alla bryr sig kanske inte om byggnadsvård men att se en sekelskiftesbyggnad med fönster och dörrpartier i aluminium och plast är jättesorgligt. Man har även spikat igen vackra originalfönster för att bygga en pub, vägg i vägg. Vi hade fönster mot innergård men vår utsikt var ett tak full med duvbajs.

Bra hotell i ännu bättre läge.

Bästa läget i Kalmar. Hotellet är lätt bedagat och rummen skulle må bra av en renovering. Men det är rent och snyggt och allt funkar. Bra frukost även om man blir lite sen på att underhålla tallrikarna. Riktigt bra personal.
