Nice stay with friendly staff and wonderful breakfast buffet. Got a room where the mirror in the bathroom was broken - of course pointed this out - and the staff were friendly and asked if we wanted another room, but we stayed in the room as it could be used. A wonderful stay!

Lovely gem in Vaxjo

We had a most amazing time at Elite Stadshotellet . The staff were all very kind and welcoming, the food was excellent and the hotel itself is tastefully decorated and well looked after. We'll definitely be back.

This is a large, traditional hotel in the center of the city, within easy walking distance of the railroad station and the cathedral. The Småland museum and House of Emigrants are also within walking distance. The rooms were comfortable, and the breakfast buffet was very good. The hotel was two restaurants, one is Japanese and the other, the Bishops Arms, is more like an English pub. It was very crowded and noisy, when we went there for dinner, and the order-at-the-bar service was not the best. (There are many other restaurants nearby). A disadvantage was that the hotel was under renovation, so the reception area was on a second level and there was a lack of public lounging spaces. Parking is convenient in an immediately adjacent surface lot, but it is a municipal lot in which payment is required between 9 am and 6 pm.

Das Hotel von 1863 liegt mitten im Zentrum von Växjö. Es hat keine eigene Parkplätze, man kann aber auf den öffentlichen Parkplatz nebenan ausweichen und mit EasyPark bezahlen (möglichst die ersten Reihen am Hotel nutzen). Das Zimmer war geräumig und sehr ruhig, nur das Bad empfand ich als sehr klein. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück war sehr gut und wurde ansprechend als Büfett serviert. Zur Zeit wird die Rezeption und einige Zimmer renoviert. Davon bekam aber nicht viel mit.
