Spotless, well-managed hotel

Very clean, well ran hotel. Met the family owners and staff. Love that they do not allow nonsense or unregistered guests. Note that the stairs are tricky and navigating them would be difficult if one had any sort of physical limitation.

The hotel was very clean. The staff were very helpful and kind. The location was great. The only complaint is the stairs. Having to carry luggage up and down that many stairs was hard. I did have someone offer to help which was ver nice.

My 2nd time staying here. I was on the 3rd floor this time and it was quieter than the basement room I previously stayed in. You can still hear the trains coming by but it's not quiet as loud. Room was very comfortable. Stairs are steep and narrow but the building is quite old and this adds to the charm I think. Good WiFi, comfortable bed and the staff are very friendly and available 24 hours.

The location is very good

You really can't beat the location. 3 minutes walking from Paddington station. However, due to the close proximity to the station, you will hear all the trains rumbling by, especially if you're in the basement like my room was. The room will vibrate when the trains pass. I stayed for 2 nights by myself. The room was quite small but manageable. Very nice staff working here.

Great location, the hop-on hop-off buses leave from the end of the street. There are plenty of restaurants around and it's very close to Paddington station. They don't have a lift, only stairs though so if you're like me and have heavy luggage that this into consideration. Their was no one to help get my bag up the stairs on the day I arrived.

Centrally located near Paddington train station with friendly and helpful staff. Single room very small and bed was lumpy. Glad I was on the first floor but heard the rumble of the trains at all hours although I got used to it. Restaurants nearby. I would stay here again but maybe not in that room.

Staff was very helpful, and the room was really nice. My room location must have been right next to an adjacent pub, though. The noise during a football match made it virtually impossible to sleep, unfortunately.

Location is Key

Top billing for St. Davids is location, only about 3 minutes walk to Paddington Station. My room was fairly small with no real place to sit other than the bed and no table to sit at. The bathroom was more or less a remodeled closet, and the shower was even tighter. I did request the top floor to avoid noise from the train, but the stairs at the top can be a bit sketchy. If I did stay at St. Davids again, I'd book a room with a little more breathing room.

Has a 24 hour doorman!

We had a great stay! The hotel was very clean, and we were pleasantly surprised to receive room service even during a short two night stay. Nice after a long day of walking. The 24 hour doorman added a sense of safety, which we really appreciated. You can feel the vibrations from the trains throughout your stay, but pop in some earplugs and you’ll sleep like a baby! lol. Location- steps from groceries, restaurants, pubs, and the train station. If you're planning to use the hop on hop off bus, there's a stop just outside the hotel. One thing to note—there's no coffee or tea in the room, but there’s a pantry on the main level. I would definitely stay here again.
