Nice location

The hotel is located in the city center, about 7-8 mins walk from the central train station HBF and less than 10 mins walk from Konigsallee and its stores. The hotel is very nice and the Moxy concept is interesting with its bar adjoining the front desk. The room is a little small but clean.

Great stay in Dusseldorph

Our stay at this Moxy was great. The staff was very helpful, and the large room we were given met all our needs. The quirky nature of this brand of Marriott hotels made the lobby/bar area very entertaining. We found ourself spending every evening enjoying the atmosphere and drinks. The proximity to the Christmas Markets allowed for a simple walk to reach all the fun.

Boutique to a fault

Nice hotel in a fantastic area right off the Japanese district with some amazing food within walking distance but with long queues often to get in in the evening. Plenty of bookable options within a cab ride. The room was “boutique”. It was basically a bed, chair, small desk, a metal grid on the wall with 4 hangers and a TV + bathroom. You lived out your suitcase. No creature comforts; kettle, complimentary water, fridge, safe, Wardrobe or any storage. Fine for an overnight but for a longer business trip I personally like to settle into a room. No onsite restaurant was an issue for me especially after a long day when I don’t want to go food hunting at local restaurants.

Not for me… sorry.

Sorry… it’s not a thumbs up from me. You enter the hotel and there is a distinct smell. The only way to describe it is that it smells like someone has put deodorant on top of an already bad smell. Like trying to disguise something. It’s quite horrid. I thought it would go away… it didn’t. Three people on reception, made me wait quite a while to check in, even though only one person was busy. That also wasn’t great… but probably the worst thing is.. in the bedroom, the carpet is thread bear, it doesn’t feel nice underfoot, but worse than that, they have a plastic mattress protector that makes so much noise, and makes you feel sweaty and not nice… I didn’t want to stay, but I had already paid up front.

Moxy-poxy hotel - stay away

The hotel room was well overpriced far from the quality. It was far from standards seen across the hotel room market. Food from menu was not available. Burgers made from frozen buns. Rooms were missing proper desk, kettle , water, wardrobes. Standard equipment seen in other hotels were missing. It was just a better quality hostels

Very basic and not friendly staff

Service in general were bad; only 3 staff that actually smiles and greets customers. Bartender in the evening was rude; staff in the very early morning when I checked out on July 22nd was also rude. Hairdryer is not good; my hair got stuck in it. They didn’t put shampoo/ body wash, but conditioner in both bottles in the bahroom
