A beautifully maintained Victorian hotel (we stayed in the older part). Lovely lounge and pub. The room was very clean and spacious. The town has loads of restaurants and shops within walking distance of the hotel and views of the loch are spectacular. Highly recommended!

Staff extremely friendly, helpful and very hard working. Lots of lounges to sit in and a good choice of food in the restaurant reasonably priced all well decorated. Rooms are very clean but could do with a few touches like pictures on the walls and update the bathroom.

The breakfast was great with hot food cooked to order. Our quadruple family room was very dated with a strange arrangement of 4 single beds! The games room was similarly very dated and windowless in the basement. It was fine for 1 night, but at the high price, not good value for money. Lovely clean room, we had dinner in the hotel which was excellent as was breakfast the following morning. The hotel is a little old fashioned & dated but we really enjoyed our stay and couldn’t fault anything. Didn’t have time to use the facilities but the swimming pool looked very good.

Hotel does require upgrading and decorating. Breakfast poor - half rasher of bacon, 1 very small sausage,1 potato scone, half fried tomato and a boiled egg was my choice (although you could have the addition of haggis and black pudding) a very meager breakfast. Also Alpen stated on Menu was not offered, no alternative to butter on display - had to request alternative. Overall not a very good selection and set up.
