Absolutely loved this property. The staff were so welcoming and the room was just what we needed - the mattress was DIVINE! We watched the movie about Wine Making and had a wine tasting experience that was not only tasty but educational. Everything we needed was right there on the property and I highly recommend.

Great place and staff, resort accomodation looking a bit tired . Rooms need a tidy up and bathrooms are little dated. But of a revamp and would be a brilliant resort.

Hunter Valley Resort is a really nice little property in the Hunter Valley wine region. It's geared more towards families but we loved the working farm atmosphere with all the animals and more "down to earth" feel of the place. We stayed in one of the cottages and though they are a bit on the older side, they are very comfortable and good value for money especially compared to some of the more "uppity" wineries in the area. We really enjoyed that the property has access to a number of nice walking trails you can take directly from your doorstep and we took full advantage of them during our stay with plenty of kangaroos, cows and cockatoos to keep us company along the way. The 4-Pines restaurant was fantastic with superb food and service.

Tough check in great stay

Good family facility well appointed room, farm for kids, lawn games, great food coffee beverage and lovely staff. Beware check in if you do not have a physical plastic card (it’s 2024 resort!). We didn’t. Had paid in full upfront. Don’t accept digital cards, wouldn’t put deposit on card, wanted cash! Was 30 mins of ringing banks and credit card company to get full card number before we could check in. Not ideal after a road trip with a 1 and 3 year old. Thought at one point we would have to go home even though as I said before we had paid up front in full. At least tell guests in advance you want an actual card or cash and that you don’t accept tap and go!

Peaceful, beautiful getaway

This was a trip with friends and we had a stay in a Hunter room. The room was comfy with all we needed for an overnight stay. The room was overlooking a grassy area and tennis courts, with a nice private courtyard to sit in and enjoy the view. We used the pool which our kids said was a little cold, but to be expected for the time of year. It was clean with some sunloungers for us to make the most of the great weather. The free session learning about wine making followed by wine tasting was a great touch and the staff member conducting that was very informative and funny. On site there are various activities you can partake in. The farm yard was basic but fabulous and the kids (and us!) loved the friendly animals. We went on a horse trek and the staff could not have been any more helpful, it was stunning scenery and really enjoyable. We'd definitely return.

The resort was excellent and was everything we wanted. The bed was so comfy and the room was so clean. The only issue was our room locked behind us after hours and we didn’t have the key when we went to the after hours button and tried phoning the number multiple times, no one answered, we then remembered that we had been out the back of the room on the patio and realised we hadn’t locked that door so we got in. It was about 4 hours later that a man opened the door to wake us up and see if we were alright. It was a nice cold evening and luckily we got back inside

Wifi needs to be improved, hand soap is too high for the bathroom sink, dish soap should be available if dishes are provided so they could be washed and reused. Bed was comfortable.
