Great location. Good deal for the price. It's an old hotel, and you need to set your expectations for that.

The staff are very attentive to requests. The rooms are clean and mattresses are comfortable. What we did not like in room #109 is the presence of what looks like black mold on the ceiling in the shower area and bathroom.

We found this hotel to be entirety adequate for our stay. It's an older property with small rooms and minimal furnishings and amenities. Some reviews will be less than glowing because some people will have expectations of a Ritz experience for a Motel 6 budget. You won't find that here, but if you are looking for a clean, safe, not always totally quiet room to rest after a day of exploring for a very reasonable price, this properly is entirely suitable. I've paid $150 per night for rooms no where near as good as this hotel. Come with the right attitude and you will love your stay.

Great location. Clean, quiet enough, safe, economical. I’ve stayed here for years.

I have stayed at alot of different hotels here in Merida, Hotel Santa Lucia is my favorite, it is super clean, very quiet in the hotel, surprisingly because it is in a very touristy area. Close to everything one would need. All staff are very friendly and helpful. The pool is a nice size, also very clean. Prices are fantastic, I have no idea why its only rated as 1 star, I am fussy about quiet, cleanliness and the place is sparkling clean. Lots of high end restaurants right next door in the Santa Lucia Park. Love it ❤️

Great location for walking in historic district. Old hotel with very noisy hallway where hear passer by footsteps and conversations. No food or coffee on site.

Economical for the location. The hotel is in the heart of the tourism. Our room was very clean. Unfortunately we didn't get to enjoy the pool. It was raining everyday. But the pool looked clean and welcoming. The hotel is walking distance to Paseo de Montejo, Centro and Mercado Lucas de Galvez. The staff was very friendly and helpful at all times. Overall, I rate it 5 stars.

First time at this Property. Staff pleasant and helpful. Several spoke English which was helpful. Thanks. Room was clean. Actual more-than-warm water in the shower!! Bunches of restaurants and shops in the area. I'd stay there again.

The only thing I liked about this hotel was it is across the plaza Santa Lucía, where cultural activities take place and artesanal items are found. It wasn’t bad, but service wasn’t either five stars.

6/10 Good

The location of this hotel was great but our room was not in good condition. First, we couldn’t lock our door very well and it didn’t seem secure. Second, the bathroom smelled really bad like raw sewage. Third, there were missing slats in the bathroom window and no screen so someone would have be able to see in and mosquitoes could get in. Fourth, there were very few electrical outlets.
Erin, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

The hotel had no electricity when we arrived (late)and nobody bother to send us an email or give us a call. At arrival they sent us across the street to a different hotel where we ask to see the property first and then decide, it look dingy and from where we saw the pool was dirty. We decided not to stay there and canceled. When we reserved I put a credit card on file but we will pay at the property. After we check in at a different place I turned off the card and the next day sure enough I get an email from Expedia asking for a different credit card to keep the reservation that we had canceled the night before due to the fact that they couldn’t provide us with what we reserved. The card is still blocked (just in case) I will deal with that once my vacation is over. We do understand some things were out of their control but not letting us know or not cancelling the two rooms we reserved when we were not pleased with the substitution was something they could have handled better.

Worth the trip

I stayed here for four nights, I didn't stay in the hotel during daytime I only used the room strictly to sleep. I had a positive experience even though there's room for improvement. The room is comfortable for two people, it's clean and the AC works great. Mosquitos were pretty bad everytime we opened the door though. Using the TV remote control got tricky until the staff member showed me how to operate the two remotes. One morning at 6am a group of loud people were in the pool and no one enforced the time rules. When you visit Merida you go to bed late as you attend a lot of the free events until late at night, waking up at 6am with loud noises wasn't nice. Parking is really tricky though, it's either you use their parking garage which it only houses less than 8 cars or find a place somewhere else. The difficult part of the parking situation is that the garage is first come first serve so to get an overnight spot you need to park around 4-5pm and stop driving for the rest of the evening. Or park overnight in a street where cars don't get towed away, that's tricky finding one in the Centro area. If you don't need a car don't rent one, it's a pain unless you figure out where to park. The room was always clean including sheets, pillows and bathroom. It's nothing fancy but comfortable
