If you stay here, just know that it’s an older space, but it’s also beautiful. They have a great area to gather and games to play. The property has a proper garden area with lots of places to sit. We would absolutely go back.

Friendly staff, quiet location, lovely gardens. Nice room which was properly cleaned. Big conservatory would be great in bad weather. Only negative comment is corridor decoration could do with a refresh.

Just had a great stay at the Derwentwater Hotel and great staff and service. In particular a huge thanks to Ronnie and Amy who went out of their way to take time and assist us getting to a local wedding when all other taxi firms were unavailable due to storms and road closures.. Having excellent staff and friendly check in made the stay enjoyable and we will be returning to the hotel again. Fully recommend this hotel. Thanks all.

Lovely scenery but tired hotel

Lovely hotel, very dated and needs a refurb but for hiking trip was value for money. Beer garden was stunning and lots of grounds to walk over.
Gareth, 1-night trip

A lovely old building in a beautiful setting with views of Derwentwater and the mountains. The staff very friendly and efficient. We have stayed here several times and will again in the future. The dog was welcome too!
Irene, 3-night trip

6/10 Okay

Property photos bear no resemblance to actual hotel. The hotel needs a lot of investment. Hotel is shabby, dated and needs a refurb. Extremely basic. Good breakfast. Sheets and towels clean. Good parking and easy walk to Keswick town. Right next door to Derwent Hill. Drinks prices very reasonable. Garden is lovely. Ideal for walkers and dog owners. Wouldn't go there to be pampered....
Angela, 2-night trip

Ideal position for the lakes . Beautiful garden , peaceful setting . Staff friendly . Food good . Needs refurbishing but that was reflected in the price . Would go back again .
Sharon, 1-night trip

4/10 Poor

Be warned, the beautiful property you see in the photos of the building in grey brick stone is not where you will be staying. We were completely catfished with the interior and exterior photos shown. That is actually the property across the street and the one we stayed in was very dirty and run down. I would not recommend staying here. I'm surprised Expedia allows those photos to be used when it's not the correct building.
Ashley, 1-night trip

In a poor state inside ,rooms not serviced . The staff are very pleasant and the grounds are very nice. In a good position to walk into Keswick. The price you pay to stay ,then they want you to pay for parking per night we don’t think is very good.

Keswick hotel

Very helpful staff on reception. Great evening meal. Lovely choice and fresh & hot. Excellent service too… Our room overlooked the lake and was fabulous… Whilst the hotel is a little tired the staff were not at all. They were great. A great place for walking around the lake .
Jackie, 2-night trip

4/10 Poor

Gardens stunning next to the lake, only positive. Booked via Expedia, room looked beautiful and modern on image.. Called reception to check the room we were looking at was the room we would get, told yes definitely. Checked in late Monday evening after a family funeral to find room not what we thought we were getting. Dirty walls, dust everywhere no headboards, no fire evacuation sign on the back of the door, stained duvet cover, chair arms worn away, Dirt in the bath. Windows dirty and on frames. Very loud extractor fan outside the window. Spoke with Reception (1 person) showed no compassion very dismissive. Bar service was goood. Checkout with Lauren was wonderful.

Lovely Stay In Keswick

It's a lovely hotel with excellent grounds to walk the dogs in. Although it could do with a paint touch up in places and some TLC The room we had was clean and the bed was comfy. The service was good however they appeared to be short staffed. The young waitress in the dining room serving evening meal works really hard, and she's a credit to the hotel. The food at both breakfast and in the evening was really nice. We would return to this hotel again if staying over in Keswick.
