We went with friends. Had a great time in buxton. The hotel is very grand looking. Love the oldie worldie look. Breakfast was good. If I had one thing to say I would say the bedroom was slightly tired looking. But we was hardly in it, but if we were staying longer I would have liked it a bit better. Pretty basic. But overall we would definitely stay here again. Great location.

The hotel is a little dated, but that adds to the character. Noticed that the tables were barely cleared of drinks glasses in the foyer or seating area

It’s a lovely building, but the rooms are a bit run down, and service a bit lacking. . Having said that, it is marvellously cheap, and very conveniently located in the centre of Buxton.

We were very impressed with our room which was very clean and looked freshly reburbished.
The hotel itself was also clean and fresh with very helpful and friendly staff. A stones throw from restaurants and the theatre so convenient location.
Would recommend to others.

It was for anevent in the town. The room was tucked away in the back but quiet. Quite a few stairs and narrow corridors but no top difficult to locate. Checkin was very easy and they allowed us access to the room 2 hours earlier that scheduled check in. The room was a good size with generous bed, tea, coffee facilities and a tv. The bed was comfortable although personally I would have liked a softer pillow.

Stayed here for 2 nights. The hotel was in a great location, close to everything , the train station is next door too. It's a good base for travelling around the peak district . The hotel was clean , the staff were friendly and helpful. We didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment on the food. Id recommend staying here.

Bring earplugs and noise cancelling headphones, if your window is near the hotels ventilation system it will be very loud 24/7.
Otherwise the hotel has a beautiful exterior and communal interior areas for the cheap price.
