Comfortable, large space in a good location although a hike to both the ferry terminal and bus station (how we arrived and departed). It was nice to have codes rather than keys to enter. The sofa was super comfortable and nice to have the extra sleeping space. They gave us all the coffee and water we could drink. The recommendations for laundry and dining were excellent.

Stayed at City Lion by Semavi in a two story condo with the bedroom upstairs. The bed was comfy; however the shower is located next to the bed which was a little strange. Staff were friendly and helpful. Parking is not easy; however, there are parkades nearby.

We have stayed here a few times and we love it. Little details really do make the differnce. Clean and friendly, fantastic quiet air-conditioning, the beds and pillows are unbelievably comfortable and a nespresso machine in your room with extra pods if needed fror free.

We wish we had more time to stay at this lovely hotel! Smack downtown and minutes away from museum, harbor, great food and sightseeing. Our ground floor apartment had a garden and it was spacious, clean and with a very comfortable bed and nice bathroom. The only caution I have is to not attempt to reach the place by your own car… very tight roads and nowhere to really park to unload so get a cab instead and ditch the car at the airport before you arrive.

We loved all of the features, the decor was beautiful and modern. The rooms had everything we needed and were very close to the main tourist area of downtown Heraklion. It was very easy to get to the ferry port the morning we checked out, it was only about 5 mins away by car. Perfect for our family 4.

Wow, this hotel. Our room had a spiral staircase leading up to a 2nd bedroom, a full kitchen, 3 balconies! Excellent location too, just minutes away from Lion Square and a ton of restaurant options. Christos the owner is very nice and helpful.

Really beautiful, modern apartments and the staff were really great. Plus it had a really helpful app. The closest parking lot isn’t far, but you do have to wind through some cobbled streets, so just be prepared if you have luggage. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely be back!

My family's experience at the City Gate was nothing short of excellent. The rooms are meticulously clean, well designed and spacious. The two staff we interacted with (Karissa and Manos) are both exceptionally attentive and accommodating. The location is excellent and is about a 3 min walk to all the restaurants and shops. Hands down the best hotel that I've stayed at in all of Greece.
