Great motel right on hwy 50. 6 minutes to downtown Salida. Bathrooms have been remodeled with nice towels and shampoo and soaps.

We visit Salida around 10 times a year for quick getaways and this is our go to motel. Rooms are clean, beds are very comfortable and the hot tub is a dream after skiing or after a day on the river. Staff is always friendly and welcoming. We love that we are also a very short stroll from our favorite Mexican restaurant in Salida, Casa Calaca.

Salida Inn and Monarch Suites- was half the price of other low to medium motels in the area, including Buena Vista and Leadville as well as Salida. So I expected it to be not so great- but we were pleasantly surprised. I cannot speak for the "Monarch Suites"- they did not look too impressive from the outside- like mini cabins in the parking lot. But we stayed in a regular room at the Inn and it was very nice in every way- clean, comfortable, quiet, spacious, good location, very friendly staff.

When we booked the room, it was based on images presented to us by both their website as well as the Expedia site. The room we were in was nowhere what we'd expected. While the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the staff were nice, I felt that the facility was a bit misrepresentative of their rooms. The only truly difficult issue was the parking. Between how other patrons chose to park and just too small of spots for pickup trucks, etc., parking was a significant challenge.
