Stayed at the Holiday Inn & Suites in Santa Maria and had a great experience. The room was clean, spacious, and had a small kitchen, perfect for a short or extended stay. Staff were friendly, check-in was smooth, and the location is super convenient, right off the freeway. Only downside: the hallways and elevator could use some updates. Overall, a solid and comfortable place to stay.

I had a comfortable stay at the Holiday Inn in Santa Maria. The room was clean, spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful during check-in. It’s conveniently located near restaurants and the freeway. The only downside was that some areas could use a bit of updating, but overall it’s a solid place to rest if you’re passing through or visiting the area.

We arrived and the hotel was under construction. The website for hotels.com never showed that was the case. We had a power outage for about 9 hours one night and were told they couldn’t do anything for us because it was out of there control. We have stayed at this property many times but this was by far the worst time we have ever stayed there.

Stay during remodel

Our stay unfortunately occurred during a remodel to a new hotel platform. Limited parking and limited entry ways. When we arrived around 845ish pm, we were settling in then the power goes out. It was a planned outage unfortunately management said they were not informed. So we were without power til 6am. No AC, no electricity, no tv so we stayed in our car to charge our phones. But the bed was comfy.

Place is in terrible shape, the front desk is temporarily set up in a hallway. The staffing is unpolished and really unprofessional. The place is under remodeling so everything is a mess. The room was gross and the bed had a terrible wear spot that felt like I was sleeping in a hole. I would have been better off sleeping in my truck.
