Semi rural stopover place ideal if touring an area

Lovely character full older property in its own grounds just outside Hastings. It suited our needs entirely as a quiet location out of town although the road to Rye passes outside but not unduly intrusive at all. Lovely period furniture in the public areas of the hotel with helpful and friendly staff especially at breakfast service. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable and you have the time take a brief wander around the lake with its fountain, the grounds need a little work and tidying but its perhaps an ongoing project so we would stop here again.

A little gem

We had a wonderfully relxingstay at this little gem of a hotel. The staff were excellent who went out of their way to ensure a nice stress free stay. The room was tastefully decorated with everything we needed.and the breakfast was excellent. my only exremely minor whinge, like most hotels the choice of decaf coffee in the room was nescafe, probably the worst decaf coffee on the market. Pay a little extra for for Taylors or Douwe Egbert.

Amazing place. Super room with huge bed and 2 comfortable arm chairs. Large tv. Downstairs were 2 large rooms which we could relax in and look at the many interesting and exotic objects on display. Excellent breakfast.

4/10 Fair

Take an eye mask !

Impossible to sleep because the curtains were very thin and the light outside, directly targeted our window all night long. (No shutters ) Terrible night.

Caroline, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Friendly, welcoming staff. Room was clean and comfortable. However, there was a water outage when we arrived which, luckily was sorted that evening. We had a problem with the shower but it was sorted that day. Breakfast was included but would have liked more variety if we had stayed longer.

A wonderful country property The Guestling Hall sits high on a hill with beautiful landscape views. Close to Hastings, yet far enough out in the countryside to breathe the fresh air. The rooms have been updated and are comfortable. It’s a wonderful place to hang out and they have a very good dining room open all day long. Chef Jamie has a delicious ever changing menu. It’s a very well run hotel. Worth going to for a nice change of scenery.
Elise, 2-night trip

Lovely friendly hotel

We had a lovely stay with wonderful hosts. Room 2 was very good apart from a problem with mattress springs. We had an excellent breakfast but never took advantage of bar or restaurant as we had been out with relatives. This was our second stay here and we definitely will be back again.
Colin, 2-night trip
