Lucerne hospitality at its best!

We were able to walk to this hotel even with it being across the river from the train station. It is a historic hotel located right on the river.So you are guaranteed great views.If you are on the river side. The rooms were up to date and clean. We had a two room suite, and it was very spacious with one and a half bathrooms. The concierge was amazing in helping us coming up with new plans as it was raining and our original plans to go to Mt. Pilatus was not a good option. We walked to the chapel bridge area which has great restaurants and also a market one morning during the week, that was a very fun experience mixing with the locals. It was a big music festival happening and our hotel hosted a DJ experience the two nights that we stayed there so we were able to enjoy that with the kids.

The property is in a fantastic location within the old town, the staff is professional, room is beautiful and has a Nespresso machine, kettle, and the windows opening to the city view was idyllic. Cons: Buffet breakfast was basic and did not look appealing, especially for $38. Recommend local cafe/restaurant Mill'Feuille. Simple but tasty. Gym had basic weights and a few cardio machines.

We stayed at Hotel Schweizerhof Luzern and overall had an okay experience. The location is great—central and very convenient for exploring the city. Our room was clean, nicely decorated, and appeared to have been recently remodeled, which was a plus. However, the staff at check-in was not welcoming at all, which made for a cold first impression. Also, the breakfast was underwhelming—limited variety and the same selection every single day, which got repetitive quickly. It’s a nice hotel in many ways, but there’s definitely room for improvement when it comes to service and breakfast offerings.
